Dear Gumberbears, 🦋🧸 I’m writing this because multiple people have reached out to me asking about my opinion on the situation, so I wanted to share my personal perspective.. 🙏🏼 From what I have seen and understood, Lena’s friend spoke about how some of her friends in the GL/BL industry couldn’t openly announce their real-life partners due to the pressure coming from the community. Although she did not directly refer to Lena, many people ASSUMED she was talking about her. To clarify, this friend has a minimum of two connections in the GL/BL industry so the statement wasn’t necessarily about one specific person. Personally, I do agree with what she said. We’ve all seen how intense and sometimes toxic the GL/BL community can be. Speaking from my own experience of being part of this community for years, I’ve witnessed artists being attacked, canceled, and even having their families dragged into situations, simply because fans suspected they might be dating someone outside their on-screen pairing. That kind of pressure is very real. 😕 If I were a celebrity entering the GL/BL industry, I would absolutely talk to my close friends about my fears. I would discuss the pros and cons, including the reality that fans might react negatively if I had a real-life partner. That’s a normal, human conversation to have. So if Lena is close to this friend, it’s completely natural that she may have opened up to her (could be before the pairing happened) about her thoughts and concerns. That does not mean she is dating anyone, and it definitely does not invalidate LENAMIU or their potential. We’ve all seen the chemistry between Lena and Miu. We’ve seen their genuine moments, their comfort with each other, and the way they naturally connect (both on and off screen I mean they chose to kiss behind the scenes even when they didn’t need to 😂).. Lena cries when she see Miu for god’s sake.. said she is her number one priority and the sunshine of her life among other GAE sh!t 🤭 these are the things that brought us here in the first place. 😅 At the same time, I do think it was unwise for her friend to post something like that publicly, especially knowing how sensitive and intense this community can be. It can easily lead to misunderstandings and unnecessary speculation. But what’s done is done. Now, it’s up to us as a fandom to choose how we respond. If we start doubting or hesitating in our support based on assumptions and rumors, we create an unstable environment.. not just for LENAMIU, but also for the healthy part of the fandom. That only opens space for negativity. At the end of the day, we should believe what we see, not what others speculate. We’ve seen how Lena and Miu treat each other.. with care, appreciation, and genuine emotion. YOU CAN TELL WHEN SOMETHING IS REAL.. As for me, I will continue to support them regardless of any labels. I appreciate the happiness they bring, the connections this fandom has given me, the friendships I’ve built, and the cultural experiences I’ve gained.
