@dougvansant @capitalweather I’m not seeing as much of that as general disappointment in the inaccuracy and perceived panic and overacting it caused.

We understand the concerns about the predicted storms not reaching their potential today. That said, we still have one more evening round to come, which may bring a burst of wind. Tomorrow, we'll post a discussion on what limited some of the storm activity today.

What a HORRIBLE forecast by meteorologists – especially myself. Not only were we spectacularly wrong – we communicated poorly. It became apparent last night that some of our initial expectations would prove fallacious. I'd like to address what went wrong with our forecast:

SEVERAL TORNADOES are likely on Monday along the East Coast, with the SPC issuing a rare 15% tornado threat from Washington DC to South Carolina! Tomorrow is shaping up to be a dangerous day of severe weather, with widespread damaging winds and tornadoes likely. This is a day you need to stay weather aware on, and have several ways to receive warnings. We will be LIVE tomorrow covering this.
