The reality is that Cyril Ramaphosa will not survive an impeachment process, even if ANC MPs hope to vote against it at the end. The danger was the public scrutiny itself! The hearings, the evidence, the witnesses, the cross-examination, and the exposure of internal conduct before the people of South Africa. That is why institutions like SARB, SARS and IPID were pressured to suppress, classify or withhold information connected to the matter. The objective was always political containment!
