The USA has far more socialists and communists than people would like to believe. Especially amongst the youth. If you send your child to university to study something in the 'Humanities', there is a good chance they'll become a communist. They'll also have a lot of debt.

If the Left drifts towards radicalism, a good strategy for the Right will be to counter with a solid, a little boring candidate for normalcy and stability. Not an ideologue bordering on integralism. I think Mamdani-ism helps Rubio, but not Vance.

Re. The social contract. I'm increasingly of the opinion that you don't owe a country that refuses to control its borders anything, as undermining the borders represents such a long-acting distortion of said contract. The right to decide who your neighbours are surpasses almost any other in importance as most laws are redundant if you live in the right area. Britons are being held to double standards that no one else on earth apart from a few tiny and increasingly decrepit Western countries respect. I don't respect this made-up leftist distortion of the social contract because it consists primarily of emotional blackmail to keep you in line while Westminster and the left loot the country.
