@LifeLikeLydia (I love the way poetry can capture things like mixed feelings because it doesn’t have to tidy things up in a strictly logical fashion; it can inhabit the messiness of human emotions and how much of life is governed by what we don’t know. Happy to talk abt all this in person btw!)

@JohnMcCullough_ When I think of what I learn from the artist I admire, it usually boils down to…. OH YES YOU CAN EVEN DO THAT!? 🤯
As activists and artists we constantly are to remind ourselves that you can literally do, whatever you like.
But knowing “*the rules” helps?

@JohnMcCullough_ Delicious answers John and I’d expect nothing less from a poet… 🫶🏼
I fear that I haven’t educated myself well enough to spot what people “have done there” that I can learn from.
So what does someone like me do? Where does one start?
(hypothetically speaking… for a friend)

You don’t get to stoke the fire at the beginning of the tournament by labelling our anti-racism message as ‘Gesture Politics’ & then pretend to be disgusted when the very thing we’re campaigning against, happens.

I am disgusted that @England players who have given so much for our country this summer have been subject to vile racist abuse on social media. It has no place in our country and I back the police to hold those responsible accountable.
