@LifeLikeLydia (I love the way poetry can capture things like mixed feelings because it doesn’t have to tidy things up in a strictly logical fashion; it can inhabit the messiness of human emotions and how much of life is governed by what we don’t know. Happy to talk abt all this in person btw!)

Big poetry tip: make a private anthology. Look for poems you want to learn from, ones that do things you'd like to be able to do yourself but can't yet. Re-read each phrase as you're typing or writing, then again afterwards. Make notes on the effects of techniques you might try.

@JohnMcCullough_ When I think of what I learn from the artist I admire, it usually boils down to…. OH YES YOU CAN EVEN DO THAT!? 🤯 As activists and artists we constantly are to remind ourselves that you can literally do, whatever you like. But knowing “*the rules” helps? *Ts&Cs apply
