@Light3675 @v4jx36 @notinyoureach @PaganMinNP @wut_dufuk100 If they can be modeled with Pahadi V2 that's proof they have East Asian admixture Dogras are part of NW Rajput cluster along with Punjabi & Rajasthani Rajputs. Khatris are from Gandhara area and aren't related to NW Rajputs

@Saatvata @subapicarl Genetic evidence cannot work with Bengali or Odia origin. Most probably later Buddhist corridors made the Old Sinhalese create links with Magadhans due to prestige.

@Saatvata @subapicarl I wasn't aware, thanks. Still the Lata of Mahavamsa/Dipavamsa is clearly of Gujarat not Bengal... Bengal one was not called Lala/Lada/Lata but Radha and adjacent phonetics

Why do you say it is a later toponym? It's mentioned as a rather unpleasant place alongside Vajjabhūmi and Subbhabhūmi in the first suyakkhandha of the Āyāraṅga (~4th century BC). The first suyakkhandha of the Āyāraṅga is very archaic. It almost certainly predates the Mahāvaṃsa.

@Saatvata @subapicarl Again it mentioned Supparaka which is clearly Sopara and adjacent to Lata of Gujarat. East Indian origin doesn't make much sense since they weren't long distance seafarers in that era. Gujarat has long distance seafaring tradition since Harappans and major ports which were active
