@orchwyrd I like DE but the choices don't feel like they have too much impact to the actual story, outside of crosswalk posts/messages

this is one of my main gripes with the game tbh, they only give us an illusion of choice rather than any real consequences for the decisions we make (especially decisions made in the previous game making LITERALLY no difference to the gameplay in this one)

@myself_enzi @voneverecs I did the romance path and still got that picture. Which makes me think my initial choice of having been just friends with her in Arcadia Bay means Max just hugs Chloe in this pic, since at this point they were just friends still, for Chloe at least

@Lordship003 @voneverecs I think if you follow the friendship path with Chloe to the end, that picture appears, but from what I've seen it's rare because most players chose romance with her.

The best thing about giving Max the photo is getting to hear this song at the end. The most beautiful & fitting song to end Max and Chloe’s story it’s so powerful & combined with the montage it gives me goosebumps.

It's mental that people are heavily critiquing The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. It's a kids film, I took my 5yo son to see it today and he LOVED it. It's like they wanted shocking drama, gut wrenching monologues, life lessons, deep metaphors. It's a slightly chubby Italian plumber and his brother in their overalls, on an adventure with a screaming mushroom. That's literally all that matters. It was never intended to be Shawshank Redemption or Ben Hur, was it? I thought it was great, loads of fan service, and introduced a new generation to the amazing Fox McCloud/Star Fox 💙

@BDSMESIS @ohsimplething I understand that twitters character limit is sal so its hard to write nuanced takes, but you have to back yourself up when making hyperbolic claims like how you say the issues portrayed in DE are "horribly portrayed". Like, what is horribly portrayed, and why is it horrible?

@Lordship003 @ohsimplething um..? no i didn’t..? my point was always that decknine games fail to write convincing stories that convey political messages, and often throw surface level, horribly portrayed issues in. those things obviously happen but the execution of them is poor in the game

@yuripiIIed [Realistically far more people are enjoying it then hating on it so your best bet is just ignoring dumb people. Even RE:9 had its fair share of haters, claiming it was nothing more than nostalgia cash grab.

This article is well written but that being said it does kind of make me sad that a lot of people see reunion as only fan service when it does have themes and meaning behind it. Pricefield was the major focus but it also tells of deep human connection, it wasn’t soulless

@BDSMESIS @ohsimplething People dont experience someone close to them dying, or committing suicide? People don't commit suicide due to their work environment? The goalpost moving is crazy, you went from "the game doesnt have those issues" to "ok but its not prevalent issues"

@Lordship003 @ohsimplething because the game doesn’t portray them realistically nor in a way that represents many people going through any of those issues. those also aren’t very prevalent issues in the world. they’re too scared to go into darker themes which harms the storytelling

@Lordship003 @ohsimplething none of these are treated seriously enough throughout the game at all. don’t nod has these same topics but makes them heavy, uncomfortable, and meaningful. it doesn’t matter if decknine tries to include serious themes (which seem extremely forced) if they can’t write them well

Maya Okada deals with suicide and the school covering it up, Lucas plagiarising her work is an abuse of power and deals with men taking credit for women's work, everyone's mental health due to Safi dying, and obvs several LGBTQ romances

@WanHohenHeim Double Exposure was good. Reunion disregarding a bunch of the interesting things that DE set up (Diamond, Safi's mission, merged timelines w storm amnesia), makes Reunion worse. Reunion is still good though

I owe my apology for for Zimmerman (new D9 writting team) and his co after watching this video.
Seeing how enthusiastic Adam and Adnan talked about how Zimmerman and his team made entire game from scratch in one year and made a lot of pivots made me respect new team A LOT 1/⬇️
