The 2013 saints are an interesting case study for how this could play out. They wanted to free up Jimmy Graham & have him operate in a multitude of way. Saints targeted Ben Watson and have him fringe top 10 TE money. Jimmy Graham played similar # of snaps to the WR1 & WR2.

Think about Roush.. an excellent blocker with athleticism to move and target defenders that is at his best when he is catching the ball in the flats to get him YAC? Could be a FB/Hback/3rd TE.

I've been wondering why Muhammad was the only player the Bears posted no media stuff for when usually they do for every player. I've just seen a tiktok of his party when he got drafted, he looks pissed. Hopefully it's due to draft position and not the team.

@BearsCork I don't want to use any draft capital. I want to see if they will do Dexter for Thibodeaux. They have an over abundance of edge guys and a serious need for a DT. Both guys are in contract years and I have 0 interest in extending Dexter.

@LukeSErick91 2027 class is meant to be off the charts compared to 2026 so I wouldn’t be using anymore capital (already gave up a 5th for Bradbury) - get a rental like Cam Jordan and let it ride

After thinking on it, I think the best move the Bears can make right now is trading for Kayvon Thibodeaux. The FA class next year is projected to be very weak and chances are Kayvon is the top option anyways unless he is traded first which seems likely. With Sweat likely gone next offseason you know that you at least have a capable option in house with Kayvon across from Booker and Turner going into the next draft. There are more DT options than DE options projected to be in FA next year. In the mean time Kayvon, Sweat, and Booker give you a legit pass rush.

I'm watching Miller Moss and oh my god Chris Bell is a monster. If he is healthy then Miami is getting a superstar.

Sweat, Dayo and Grady should be gone next offseason. I hope Dexter is gone too. You can potentially go into FA with a unit that looks like this: DE: Thibodeaux, Turner DT: Jordan Van Den Berg DT: Neville Gallimore DE: Austin Booker (Thanks Poles!) That edge group is fine if you go into the draft with the intent of targeting DL. Thankfully there are likely to be quite a few interior DL FA options so that is less of a concern to me. Who knows if they actually reach FA but projected options are Karl Brooks, Calijah Kancey, Moro Ojomo, Kobie Turner, Daron Payne, Maliek Collins, DeForest Buckner, and more. DT should be fine.

I am going to watch the hell out of 2027 NFL draft RB and DL prospects.

Van Den Berg said in his introductory media interview that he holds the Penn State all time squat record? How fucking strong is this guy? At a school like Penn State with as many physical freaks as they have had over the years?

I hope they let Kmet finish out his final 2 years on his deal instead of cutting him next offseason. After his deal is up he will be 29 years old. He will definitely net us a comp pick in FA if we play our cards right.

I hope Zavion Thomas can get number #0 or #20. As long as it's a number that works for a WR and RB I will buy his jersey.
