Manchester United head in to this upcoming season with Michael Carrick the 2nd longest serving manager of the "big 6" teams only surpassed by Arteta. 👏

When people realise Manchester United is more about man managing then BS tacticos we might actually progress. 😌
KH@kylehedder

@UtdDistrict @ManUtd And to my knowledge Amorim continued the 9 am session start time, only for Carrick to change it back to 11 am when he arrived…guess we’ll just wait and see how that drop in standards will affect the team in a full season especially with European football.

Sorry, the aspect of comparing two players in the same league in the same season goes over your head. It makes much more sense to compare players based on different leagues and different seasons.🥴 I have a suspicion that if Koné excelled in one aspect, you wouldnt have a problem with the stats.😏

MANU KONÉ Club: AS Roma Position: DM Age: 25 yrs old Current Salary: £84,000 Expected price: £45M - £55M This is the "Marquee" signing united have been looking for. He fits the INEOS policy on new signings to a tee. @OmarBerrada @INEOS @ManUtd

The player phase is a broad spectrum; he doesn’t have the chance to slowly develop like a young outfield player. He's been brought in as the number one keeper with the aim of winning the league he won't get that leeway. If by Christmas his underlying stats haven't improved and he can't keep the ball out of the net like last season, I'd honestly start to look elsewhere. I know people won't agree because as a fanbase we are overall sentimental, but that's unfortunately the truth, and we don't have a quality backup we can rely on either. Like i said hopefully he does and we dont have to worry about it.

@Luke_Chadwick15 @kevindyer6969 Ok, so how long is your time length to allow a young player bought to settle into a new league and then kick on and how long do you give them before you deem them not good enough?

Senne Lammens is 24, in goalkeeping terms he’s still a kid He’s come in cold, in an outrageously high pressure game and he’s made an error Calm down, he’s been absolutely amazing for us and he will continue to be Come on home Senne, we have work to to do #21

@Luke_Chadwick15 @kevindyer6969 More than less than a season, which is all he’s had Reassess next summer again, if he’s improved keep going, if he’s gone backwards then there’s questions to ask But I’m perfectly happy with him currently

My point is in the tweet, im still not convinced that he is our long term solution. As you said yourself he needs to improve. He's signed as our number one keeper, if he gives the same results next season as he did last season there wouldnt be much pointing towards keeping him. How long do you give him to prove that he will get better.

Of course he has to improve, but talks of City etc signing keepers? We don’t need to, we have our keeper and he has shown at a young age (in GK terms) he has every bit of potential to kick on and be the man we need I don’t understand the point you’re making, do you want to buy another keeper or are you just illustrating that he’s not yet top class and needs to continue to improve (which I imagine is what everyone knows)

Where did any of what I have said point to me expecting him to be world class off the bat? What I did say was he needs to improve and prove himself if hes to be the long term solution. Compared to current keepers in the league hes a fair bit off what it takes currently. So do you think he doesnt need improve or is it nonsense? 🤔

@Luke_Chadwick15 @kevindyer6969 He joined the club in September 2025 He’s not even been with us a calendar year, he’s not played a full season (didn’t debut until GW7) Do you expect him to be world class in 6 months? 😂 This is nonsense.

How long do you give him to develop before you consider him not good enough? City and Arsenal have had absolutely no problem getting rid of keepers to get what they need and ultimately lead them to the top. Define amazing job other than not being as chaotic as Onana. Thats the hook most of our fans have got caught on, hes simply calmer than Onana but the under lying stats arent overly great.

I’m not sure about this way of thinking. He was signed as a 23? year old, you’re not buying or expecting the best in the world as a GK at 23, you’re hoping he develops into becoming that level He’s done an absolutely amazing job in his first go at being our #1, more than happy enough to give him time DeGea, as with most keepers, was an accident waiting to happen, until he reached his potential, he was then one of the best in the game for his prime Why would we possibly sign another starting keeper and not allow Lammens reach his potential?

Kone’s injury record in 25/26: • 5 separate injuries • 75 days sidelined • Never exceeded 30 full 90s in a season With 364 days missed over the last 5 years due to recurring muscle and hamstring issues, is he physically robust enough for the intensity of a season at Man Utd?😌

@kevindyer6969 @DaytrippingRed You believe he's currently the best option of all the goalkeepers on the planet that we could get at the present moment 🤔 To get to being the best we need the best options which is the point.

@kevindyer6969 @DaytrippingRed Whos arguing anything about Onana? The question is ,if want to get back to winning leagues is Lammens good enough. Currently he is not, you can ignore the stats if you wish but fact is he needs to improve alot.

@Chidimadethis @stanfield_12 His technical ability is the problem, not his size. You wouldn't say the others are good because of their size; regardless of height, they are good because of their ability. So vice versa if his ability was good enough now , you wouldnt mention his size.

@Luke_Chadwick15 @stanfield_12 Its still a problem because if he had a bigger frame his technical ability would be sufficient for it, right now its not, you understand?

@Chidimadethis @exfootballfan Santos while versatile is mainly regarded as defensive midfielder in line to replace Casemiro for Brazil. Gomes is 5,9 and again looks mainly agent talk

@Luke_Chadwick15 @exfootballfan We already have the Mainoo competition in Santos, we don't need another one, and certainly not a 5'6 midfielder who lacks the required strength, body balance and intensity when we also have a 5'7 Defender.
