The Cottesmore Hunt has quad-bikes with terriers in them for driving a fox that’s gone to earth back to the surface . Why on Earth would they need terriers if they’re really just following a trail ? @MeganMcCubbin | @NhantsHuntsabs | #RealBanNow

The horrific story of Sara Sharif: A life marked by systemic failures and unimaginable cruelty… 10-year-old Sara Sharif endured years of violence and neglect at the hands of her father, Urfan Sharif, and stepmother, Beinash Batool. Their abuse culminated in her murder in August 2023, leaving questions about how so many warnings went ignored: 🔺 Sara was burned with a hot iron, bitten, and beaten with objects like a cricket bat and metal pole. 🔺 In her final weeks, she suffered at least 25 broken bones and a traumatic brain injury. 🔺 She was hooded with plastic bags taped to her head. 🔺 Sara was so severely beaten that she began wearing a nappy due to incontinence. Despite years of reports about violence in her family, Sara was failed repeatedly: ‼️ Social services knew of abuse dating back to 2010 but allowed her to live with her father and stepmother. ‼️ Neighbors heard screams but didn’t intervene. ‼️ Teachers raised concerns over bruises, but investigations were dropped after a few days. ‼️ When Sara was removed from school for homeschooling, she lost one of her last safety nets. Sara was a bubbly, spirited girl who loved to perform and dreamed of being on The X Factor. But behind her smile was a life of unimaginable suffering that no one was able, or willing, to stop. Her death now raises urgent questions about safeguarding failures and whether vulnerable children are left even more at risk when taken out of school. ➡️ bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

How are people coping with Whatsapp? Because having 20 different conversations with people at the same time drives me nuts and I had to get off it

My aunt tells me that she’s fought against the erasure of her existence her whole life. My grandfather stopped her from attending high school at 15. Her dream was to be a painter. She was married off at 17. The Taliban barred her daughters from attending school in 1996. In Pakistan, she was not allowed to work as a refugee. She kept a small pack of watercolour pens in her suitcase for decades. She is 69 now. Her biggest regret is not pushing back. She tells me I must, and every Afghan girl must do the same. “Fight back. Fight with your mind, with all your might.”

In Afghanistan, women are not allowed to see male doctors Also, women are not allowed to study medicine So what’s the long term plan here? If a woman in Afghanistan gets sick, she can just die?

Don’t be this fucking man, you bellends! (Only directed at bellends who think that is a totally acceptable thing to do)…. The fucking confidence? Narcissistic toxic behaviour

Sadly you couldn’t make this up: Man aggressively interrupts women filming a report about creating safe spaces for women. A mother and daughter sharing their story on feeling unsafe had to stop as he became verbally aggressive, perfectly proving why such spaces are needed.

The Taliban has just banned Afghan women from attending nursing school. Imagine: you cannot pursue any education, even healthcare, because of the sole reason that you are a woman. We are witnessing the erasure of women in real-time. It is beyond horror.

Adam Brown, 28, who attacked his girlfriend, inflicting a bust upper lip, a blackened left eye & a deep 2-inch cut below, leaving her visibly scarred, has walked free. @SunderlandEcho ? A 'dad made it a black & blue xmas'? Is that any way to report male violence against women?

A girl from Kabul, who had studied medicine for 2 years, had to shift to private nursing school after the Taliban banned universities. But when she showed up for class today, the instructor informed everyone that the Taliban had just enforced a ban on nursing education for women.

Many men will deny this is sexual harassment, instead labelling it as ‘banter’. That’s just a reminder to you and I that many men think objectifying women is normal. Clear as day misogyny is not acceptable in the workplace. Employers should address these claims immediately. ➡️ bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
