1. In the southern Cambrian Mountains, in central Wales, there’s a Terrestrial Dead Zone of around 300 km². It’s composed of degraded blanket mires, entirely dominated by a coarse grass called Molinia, in which other lifeforms, such as birds and insects, are scarcely to be found.

@heymrsbond When teaching bio, I live for these moments. But yesterday I honestly asked if my 14 yr olds had ever used a digital scale before. The shifty eyes and lack of raised hands had me confused for 2.5 seconds. *sigh* I'm going with, yes.

I just had a teacher tell me that taking 15 minutes to get to know my kid (their student) is something they are NOT willing to do!!!! They said they are ONLY willing to talk to their students about academic content & assignments for their class!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
