Yesterday, #MDCR, alongside @MiamiDadeOOR, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the newly installed solar panels at our Metro West Detention Center. The solar array will provide over a quarter of our facility’s electricity needs & help create a future with clean energy. ☀️

All of us here at the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department join our community in mourning the loss of Miami-Dade Police Detective Echaverry during this difficult time. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.

School’s almost out! #MDCR was present at multiple Career Days last week to teach our youth about the field of Corrections. Students got to learn about what it means to be a Correctional Officer and we got to see that the future of #OurCounty is shining bright!
