@cmoreton99 Thanks, Chris. I enjoy writing about the great fillies of the past.

Artful was arguably the best filly to race in America during the first half of the 20th Century. She inflicted the sole defeat on the great Sysonby in the 1904 Futurity. Her winning time in the 6 furlong White Plains Handicap of 1.08s (carrying 130lbs) was an American record.

After a hugely enjoyable first visit to lovely @CarlisleRaces on the final day of ⁦@RacingPost⁩ Go North weekend, I’ve completed my full set of Britain’s racecourses. As with @KelsoRacecourse yesterday, I’m only sorry it took me so long to get to Carlisle. I’ll be back!

@JackpotNick I'm pretty sure Chris has a program from there. Back in the 80s he used to write to a lot of American tracks to get them. He might have got some from SOKS members, too. He's got some from tracks I've never heard of!

Next, the Festival Bumper. St. Stephen's Day at Leopardstown is always my favourite FB trial, and no exception this year as The Mourne Rambler holds off Mets Ta Ceinture, for @tuvastables and @ctkjockey . Wither or Which did the double 30 years ago, hope he goes on to be as good.

Think a lot of disagreements on X have been generational. Racing needs a new audience, I hope they achieve that for the horses/the sport. However, there are still many generations of racing that need to be "looked after". Please don't forget us, we have a lot of years left!💚🙏

@MikeParcej I remember watching Duel on TV with my dad many years ago. The original Flight of the Phoenix is one I would rate highly. And I've loved Mister Roberts since I was a kid.

A lovely afternoon at @TauntonRacing that was concrete proof that Cheltenham isn't the b all and end all. Some great results with so many stories, some cheers from above, and some hard working regulars rewarded. A smashing little track that deserves a few more visits every year!

The horse has spoken, and those closest to him have listened to him.

In all this discussion over Constitution Hill, one thing stands out: The horse is trying to tell you something. Listen to him.

The Whitney family's generations in racing started with a man who decided late in life to put aside his business & political interests & pursue a new interest, horse racing. William Collins Whitney's time in the sport may have been shorter than that of his successors,
