I think if Caiphas had a calm demeanor, spoke softly, was nice, pleasant, added in some Latin and kissed some babies, Trad Inc, would have been completely ok with the crucifixion. They would have given Caiphas at least 10 more years as high priest to make a judgment after turning over God to be murdered.
