A new leadership? Eugene Debs: “If you are looking for a Moses to lead you out of this capitalist wilderness, you will stay right where you are. I would not lead you into the promised land if I could, because if I led you in, some one else would lead you out.”

Cost of living. High unemployment. Economy in the shitter. Instead of coming up with policies to treat the symptoms, the government should probably target and rewind the clock on the causes; austerity, privatisation, tax loop holes for businesses and the rich.

The UK Foreign Secretary says she is “deeply troubled" by Israel's latest massacre in Lebanon. So “troubled” that the government still supplies Israel with weapons and intelligence. Israel is committing war crimes in Lebanon - and this government is shamefully complicit.

Cooper boasts about the role Britain played in drawing up maritime laws to establish freedom of navigation & says we need that restored in the strait of Hormuz. Where was your outrage when Israel was kidnapping British citizens & seizing boats in intl waters?

More than 250 killed, many missing under the rubble, kids orphaned, a massacre at a funeral, 8 killed in a cafe, emergency workers and ambulances targeted and civilian buildings levelled in a day of I$raeli terror. But for @BBCNews it was framed as I$rael targeting 100 Hezb0llah command centres in 10 minutes. Disgusting

Israel ruthlessly carpet bombed Lebanon today, killing at least 180 people and injuring more than 800. How does the BBC report it? “Israel says it hit more than 100 command centres and military sites in 10 minutes…” This is how war crimes are laundered.

My whole young adult life has been under a Conservative government and all I got was austerity, tripled uni fees, Brexit, 11% inflation and Liz Truss. Respectively you guys can do one.

Young people want a house, a car, a good job. They realise only the Conservatives are going to really deliver for them - in a way that isn’t all pantomime and theatre. That’s why young people like myself are backing the Conservatives - we want to make something of our lives!

SHE REPORTED NHS FRAUD. THEY GAVE HER CANCER AND A P45 Sharmila Chowdhury @sharmilaxx spent 30 years working in the @NHS without a single disciplinary mark. Then she caught two consultant radiologists at Ealing Hospital NHS Trust billing the NHS for sessions they were spending at a private hospital down the road. Double-dipping on public money. Straightforward fraud. She reported it. To her line manager. To the Medical Director. To the HR Director. To Counter Fraud. To the Chief Executive. To Number 10. To the Treasury. She had a paper trail so solid that ITV later sent undercover cameras to the hospital and caught the same consultants still at it years later, taking cash from patients for private ultrasounds inside an NHS building. The Trust's response? They sacked her. On fabricated counter-allegations. The man who raised those allegations later sent an email signed off "0800-F***-YOU-B****." He received a 'Top Mentor' award from the Trust that same year. Sharmila won at tribunal. She won her appeal. The judge asked the Trust to reinstate her. The Trust said no. She was blacklisted across the NHS. One job offer was withdrawn the moment they found out who she was. Her legal costs hit £130,000. She developed breast and lung cancer, which her doctors believe is linked to the years of sustained stress. The consultants kept their jobs. George Osborne couldn't get involved. Andrew Lansley couldn't get involved. David Cameron couldn't get involved. Because everyone decided it was an "employment matter." A proven fraud case, covered by ITV, the Guardian, Daily Mail and Channel 4, and the official position of Her Majesty's Government was: not our problem. This is what the UK does to people who try to protect public money. It destroys them and promotes the people they were trying to stop. When Labour claim to be the party of workers, remember that they have spent over £33.4 million so that they could cut workers’ pay by £8,000, potentially saving them no more than £1.2 million. This is cruelty for the sake of it targeted directly at the working class.

#BBCBreakfast: "Israel.. said the ceasefire did not include Lebanon, where its targeting Iranian backed Hezbollah fighters" Not its not. Its targeting civilians, killing paramedics & journalists, blowing up whole villages, displacing hundreds of thousands of people.

If disability benefits are so easy to claim fraudulently, why hasn't one member of the right-wing media done it yet? They're lying. I was left destitute twice by the DWP when I became chronically ill, and it took three years until I got the benefits I'm entitled to.

Absolutely disgraceful racism from @jkyleofficial on @TalkTV. As the camera zooms in on me and @DrHWazir on the picket line, he sneers that “a lot of them have come into this country to be doctors.” He based this solely on the colour of my skin. I was born in the UK. I studied and trained in the UK and I currently work as a doctor in the NHS. My grandfather fought for this country in WW2. This is racist, demeaning, and utterly unacceptable.

MAN LOSES EVERYTHING FOR TELLING THE TRUTH. HSBC LOSES NOTHING FOR FRAUD. Nicholas Wilson spotted something wrong in 2003. Simple enough: @HSBC's subsidiary HFC Bank was quietly adding a 16.4% "debt collection charge" to the accounts of people already struggling to pay off store cards at John Lewis, Currys, B&Q, Dixons and PC World. Illegal. Straightforward. He said so. His boss started calling him "Mr Ethical." Not a compliment. He reported it. Got sacked. Reported it again. Got ignored. Regulators sat on it for years. @TheFCA own Complaints Commissioner eventually said it was the worst case of regulatory failure he'd ever dealt with. The FCA responded by appointing someone from John Lewis and someone from HSBC to its board. You genuinely cannot make this up. After 13 years, HSBC quietly agreed to compensate customers. The official figure: 6,700 people. Wilson says the real number is closer to 500,000. He estimates the fraud totalled over £1 billion. HSBC has paid out around £200 million so far, with some victims receiving over £10,000. No fines. No prosecutions. Nobody went to jail. Wilson, meanwhile, has been unemployable ever since. Blacklisted. Living on benefits. Nearly lost his home. The bank that defrauded half a million people kept its licence. The man who exposed it lost everything. Source: @guardian | nicholaswilson_com

From this week, severely ill and disabled people making new benefit claims will receive lower Universal Credit health element payments than existing claimants if their conditions aren’t deemed "severe and lifelong", with no prospect of improvement. People with cancer, MS, Parkinson’s, bipolar disorder, ME, long Covid, learning disabilities, and survivors of strokes and heart attacks may not get crucial support solely based on when they applied for help. I was one of the MPs who warned last year that this would create a completely unjust two-tier disability benefits system. We must keep fighting for this policy to be reversed.
