I can never understand why people queue for what is essentially junk food. Is it the need to be one of the first to try it? Is it the need to be one of the first bodies to arrive and post about it on social media? Is it the thirst for that dopamine hit from "likes" that will last five seconds?
The American burger shop will be there tomorrow. It will be there next week. Why, oh, why would you waste your precious time waiting in the morning cold to get inside?
Good Morning you lovely little flock of squirrels. This morning, as you behaved yourselves yesterday, I’ll take you on a walk from Little Venice around to Paddington Basin. I’ll then tell you interesting facts about things I see. I use the word interesting loosely.
Just popped in here to reminisce. The Hippodrome in London. I remember coming here in the late 80s when it was owned by Peter Stringfellow and was an enormous nightclub. I just stood on the exact spot I remembered which used to be next to the dance floor and looked up to the balcony way up near the roof where a very, very large naked woman was dancing back then. It was incredible to just stand and transport myself back to that time. Now, it’s an enormous casino that’s open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It never, ever closes even for a minute. Today, I stood and watched a lot of Chinese people who didn’t look like they had any money, losing hundreds of pounds on roulette. Plus some Algerians in designer gear. People I most definitely wouldn’t want to mess with. They were getting told off for trying to be clever with their bets. A fascinating place if you want to stand and watch
