This is exactly why our criminal justice system and the judiciary is held in such low regard by so many people. Prosecuting a KC for fulfilling his solemn and fearless duty to his clients, by appealing to the conscience and convictions of the jury. The Crime? Reading the words of this plaque from the wall of the Old Bailey to the jury, to remind them of their right and duty to stand up to the judge, where their convictions demand it. Shame on Mr Justice Johnson for this appalling lack of judgment. He should have read the words to the jury himself. I invoke my Article 10 rights to make this comment about what I consider to be a wholesale failure of reason on the part of one of His Majesty's Judges. I have little doubt that this prosecution will end in failure, by the time it reaches the Court of Appeal, if not before. As of course did the similar lunacy of the judge in the Penn and Mead case.
