Curacao just scored against Germany at the FIFA World Cup.
As an Indian football fan, that gives me hope and pain at the same time. 🥲⚽
If they can get there, why can't we?
FIFA World Cup@FIFAWorldCup
A moment to cherish. 🥹

@Macha1889 Bro bangladesh people don't give fuck to cricket, even some day ago they won their first football match in europe

Reality check: 🏏👇
Outside India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, cricket is a dead sport.
An average FIFA World Cup group stage match generates more hype in Australia, England, New Zealand and South Africa than most cricket games.
Football is simply the world's game. ⚽🌍
FOX Soccer@FOXSoccer
Absolute SCENES in Melbourne as Australia fans are going wild after the huge FIFA World Cup win! 🗣️
English

@Wasdgvcseg Okay, if that makes you happy. Reality doesn't need my approval anyway. 🤷♂️
English

@Macha1889 Ur in minority mister …pnly those pockets majority still play cricket and continue to play it 😍….also isl was on verge of collapsing ….in very recent past so if anythings gonna die in india its football
English

@Macha1889 @mankuthegreat Don't forget nepal nepal ke log cricket bahut dekhte hai kyuki me nepali hu mujhe pta hai
हिन्दी

@SKDewanganReal That's the reason Cricket even not recognised as olympic sport? 🤭
Try harder my friend
English

@mankuthegreat They also like football too. The majority of their players play for clubs in the Middle East, Europe
English

@Macha1889 Don't forget about Afghanistan, they like cricket as well!! haha
English

@Wasdgvcseg What do you mean by "we"?
You know there are parts of India like the North East, Bengal and Kerala where football is followed almost like a religion.
GIF
English

@Macha1889 Ok but cricket iw indias game we are happy…we dont want to play football
English

@mountain_rats @ManishPandeyNew "Football is a European sport" while Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay have 10 World Cups between them. 😭
"Football is expensive" while kids play it barefoot across Africa, Asia and South America.
We were discussing global reach, not changing the topic every reply
English

@Macha1889 @ManishPandeyNew It’s an expensive sport! Why do you forget that? It is still pretty much a European sport! Anyway i don’t see the reason of comparing one sport to another. India is good in cricket like Brazil is good in Football!
English

@TenMinuteSW @RickSingha2008 I have no hate against cricket. But sometimes we need to face reality instead of living in denial.
I just want to see India qualify for the FIFA World Cup at least once in my lifetime. For that to happen, we need to fix the system rather than keep making excuses.
English

@Macha1889 @RickSingha2008 100% agreed with you on this. Let's talk only about football and not drag cricket unnecessary. Our focus should be to turn cricket followers to turn into multi sports followers not make them hate us. That's my point.
English

@Macha1889 @antade26mb Rugby and afl are more popular than cricket there . In football they still have more seasonal fans . A-league gets lesser attention than an Australian cricket summer
English

@Macha1889 That’s Melbourne. Not Australia. But it was a great win tbh.
English

@mountain_rats @ManishPandeyNew Mate, 48 countries are playing the FIFA World Cup and over 200 compete to get there.
Cricket struggles to find 20 genuinely competitive nations.
You're comparing the difficulty of winning football's biggest trophy with the size of cricket's ecosystem. They're not the same thing
English

@Macha1889 @ManishPandeyNew Thats why only 8 countries have won the world cup till now! Potentially max 10 can! Same is with Cricket! Why should i take India out? What is this?
English

@RickSingha2008 @TenMinuteSW I have followed the Indian national team for years. The problem isn't just the players, it's the system. No proper grassroots structure, no clear pathway from youth to senior football, and we can't even organize our top league properly. You can't build on a weak foundation.
English

@Macha1889 @TenMinuteSW ok man lack of fans 🤡 , same player who plays best in club but goes shit in national. how do you explain this? Every players are for money no passion for represnt india you football fans whenever you loses a match to lower ranked nation team like ban, afg. whom do you blame
English

@ManishPandeyNew You keep bringing up globalization, but we're discussing sports popularity.
A sport played and followed in 200+ countries is obviously more global than one whose top level is dominated by 10–12 nations.
This isn't a dig at cricket. It's just a fact.
Anyway, have a good day
English

@Macha1889 Your parameter of globalisation is weak mate. You first need to study what is Globalisation, cause of globalisation, effect of globalisation. Then link it with your no brainer . See you ,have a good day.
English

@mountain_rats @ManishPandeyNew Take India out of cricket and its global numbers collapse.
Take Brazil, Argentina, England, Germany, Spain, Italy or France out of football and it remains the world's biggest sport.
That's the difference between a regional giant and a global giant.
English

Cricket if you add up still has more people watching it. Add population of all countries that played T20 world cup and Football world cup. India itself has 1.5 Billion people watching cricket. Btw what you have shown is FED square and that's max 5K people. Average Australian actually does not care about Football as well!
English

@JahidChoudhary9 @antade26mb National sport ✅
Not a popular sport ❌
Even rugby is more popular there
English

@Macha1889 @antade26mb Cricket is the national sport in Australia..
English

@TenMinuteSW Where do I blame cricket?
I just simply stated my opinion about footballs popularity
English

@Macha1889 BCCI gave them 25crs for asian cup preparation in 2011 where are the results?
Blaming cricket for everything without taking accountability is of no virtue
English

@ManishPandeyNew That's a weird argument.
A sport's globality is measured by how many people play and watch it, not by how many countries have won the trophy.
Football has 200+ competing nations and billions of fans.
Cricket has 12 full members..you have put a no brainer argument chill
English

@Macha1889 But still Football World Cup is won by only Two Continent? Europe and South America?
Cricket won by
Asia
Europe
North America
Oceania
Africa
Is not global. Congratulations!!!!🥂
English
