@Richie3Jack That criticism has been the weirdest thing to watch.

If you think that Rory getting to play Augusta more times 3 weeks before the event gave him such a huge advantage & that's why he won...you don't know a thing about tournament golf. I can assure you that not 1 player in the field is complaining about this or thinks it was unfair

Well Rory has killed 14-18 all weekend. This is over. Congrats. Play the course 23 times in a month leading up to the tournament obviously you’re gonna win. Sad day for the game of Golf.

@unclebutta @tadhgosh3a @GratefulKeg @PGA @PGATOUR The Tour requires players to play a certain amount of events and Rory decided to skip the 3 before the Masters to prepare as he’s allowed to do. Rory plays more than Tiger and Jack did in their primes.

@unclebutta @tadhgosh3a @GratefulKeg @PGA @PGATOUR I don’t know what Scheffler did but Jack Nicklaus used to go to Augusta the whole week before the tournament to practice and he was widely praised for it. This criticism of Rory is odd.

@jimiuorio It’s been shown the last time we went to war in the Middle East our government was lying to us about the threat. Now we’re back to trust me bro on this war in the Middle East.

I have no idea if Iran was becoming more or less of a threat. There is pretty much no one I will trust who tells me…if they were becoming a greater threat, it’s perfectly legit to be pro active..it took me about 5 times before I learned that if you think someone is about to punch you, you punch them first…

@DragonGroyperr @JackMac Nicklaus used to go there for the week before the tournament every year and no one complained, in fact he was praised for it.

@JackMac He’s smart for taking advantage of it but it’s obviously something that needs to be changed

Seems like a lot of people are angry at this....but I thought it was pretty common for top-tier players, especially at Augusta? Seems like Rory took it to an extreme (doesn't care about his carbon emissions anymore LOL), but this isn't some new concept, correct? Looking for some golf guys opinion...I am a complete casual of the sport.

There’s been a few times in the last 3 weeks when Rory McIlory has dropped his daughter at school, flown to Augusta, played a practice round and returned in time for dinner. If that sounds like a man who’s comfortable at this golf course, well, that’s because he is. An essay:

@fanat1c_score @martymush It’s one thing to play the course when everyone else is there warming up. It’s not fair that most of the field can’t hop on a private jet to day trip to Augusta

Can’t quite put my finger on it but something feels weird about Rory flying up to Augusta every day for a practice round for the last few weeks. Just feels weird to me.

@MarkBurridge1 No doubt about it, taking advantage of opportunities and what you've created for yourself is what life is all about. Let's not sit here and admit he didn't create quite the advantage over the competition in doing so. Right? I tip my hat for him admitting it, though, lol.

I never really understood why some people didn't like Rory. Now I kind of see it.

@jimiuorio I meant that short conversations on social media probably aren’t the best way to discuss something this complex. But I also like X.

I had no opinion on the war because I lacked necessary information. Either Iran was becoming a larger and larger threat to U.S. or they weren’t. Very few of us on this platform knew conclusively. Either the u.s. will be able to reshape the Middle East and have governments that are more friendly to us or not. I have no idea and only time will tell. The inclination to pick a side and defend that side as if there’s no possibility that you could be wrong is the strangest of all the psychological characteristics. It seems bent on fear and insecurity. You can’t admit to yourself that you have no idea if these developments are “good” or “bad.

@jimiuorio X is probably not the forum for a rational discussion on it. I was opposed to the war and hope that something gets figured out in the next 2 weeks that makes more war unlikely in the future. It would have been terrible for everyone if it escalated yesterday.
