So proud of our rugby 7s team tonight! They won the group, the semi, then were narrowly beaten in the final. However, they are now through to the next round of the 10 best teams in Warrington and ANH was voted player of the tournament! @GtSankeyPrimary #greatsankeysports

We had our first Computing session this week where we practised our painting skills on the laptops. We did portraits of ourselves then recreated a piece of Mondrian’s artwork. We can’t wait for our next session……. #greatsankeycomputing

For British Science Week the theme was curiosity, so we investigated, ‘ Does toast always land butter side down?’ We did lots of investigations which prompted some more amazing questions. We definitely were curious scientists today!’ #greatsankeyscience @britishscienceweek

Well done to this little superstar who went to Canada over half term and kept a diary. She went snowboarding, sledging, played in a water park and helped her auntie at work. Thanks for teaching us all about Canada with your writing and brilliant photos!

What a wonderful way to end World Book Day, reading ‘Detective Dog’ to this lovely lot! We discussed the benefits of joining a library, where we can read as much as we like for free! @sycamore_tree1 @willowtreeclass

We loved inventing and then making potions, inspired by our book, ‘Room on the Broom!’ Ingredients included bat’s blood, dragon’s fire and snake snot!

We having been learning our 2s, 5s and 10x tables so today we got introduced to TT Rockstars! #greatsankeymaths

Next we conducted an investigation using different samples of material. We measured and stretched each one to see which was the stretchiest. You will have to ask Maple Tree what we found out! #greatsankeyscience

What a great start to our science lesson about different types of fabrics! We had a fashion show to model a variety of fabrics and discussed the best use for each fabric. Then we got to feel each one to predict which one might be the stretchiest! #greatsankeyscience
