Slightly random, but I make #techno now! First EP is now live, and you can follow me over at Bluesky and Bandcamp for updates. And yes, that is Jake in the shades. The true brains behind the operation... Under The Leash - Shimmer (Original Mix) - YouTube

What happens when you play Mario Kart while listening to dance music? You accidentally invent Wipeout.

So happy to see #BG3 triumph at the gaming BAFTAs. And especially to see the Raphael's Final Act duo honoured! Boris's speech showed such amazing passion. Andrew Wincott was appropriately eloquent and poetic with his. How wonderful.

Absolutely buzzing. One of my favourite ever gaming moments. One of my favourite ever games. #Bg

Loved the entire black-and-white sequence on the Harkonnen homeworld. Hugely creative. I also respected just how creepy and disturbing the overall vibe was; exactly the right spin it needed on the usual 'heroic avenger' tale. Set things up nicely (or horrifically?) for Messiah.

Dune 2 was another phenomenal 'cinematic' experience - in the truest sense of the word. My glass/plates trembled and shuddered throughout like I was in Jurassic Park, or something. Incredible visuals. Incredible sound.

It's a bit of a mess, but I find it all the more fascinating for that. Would love to see the full 4-hour cut people have spoken about. In the end I was pleasantly entertained, and equally confused by it as well.

Napoleon is a WEIRD movie. Some of the 'political' scenes in the first half have the same kind of slapstick, buffoonish, farcical energy as Death of Stalin. But it's also trying to be a serious war film, character study and complex relationship drama at the same time.

What a lovely interview! The main title music, score to Slippery Climb and of course 'Hog Wild' are etched firmly into my memory even now. It was a fantastically playful and eccentric soundtrack that really did that game justice. theguardian.com/games/2024/jan…

Agreed. It's a triumph. And I always find myself struck by the tragedy of Lee Ingleby's character. So many profound and 'quiet' moments in a movie that also has plenty of bombast and derring-do theguardian.com/film/2023/nov/…

I've heard a new patch might be relaxing the requirements on recruiting her to your party, which I think would be a massive win. More players deserve to have Minthara in their game!

A big part of why I'm enjoying my quote-unquote 'evil' playthrough of BG3 so much is the character of Minthara. Ruthless, yet also somewhat vulnerable and REALLY wise. Brilliant writing and a sublime voice performance by Emma Gregory youtube.com/watch?v=yw588i…

@BenMortimer85 @danny_robins Equally loving these mate. Scratching an itch that's been there ever since 'Strange But True?' left our screens. We watched the first ep in a creaky old cottage next to a graveyard while away last weekend. PERFECTION.

Apparently, half of Alan Wake 2 takes place within a sinister dimension called the 'Dark Place' and all I can think about is this:

Everyone has already praised it to high heaven, but I'd like to add my voice to the epic chorus saluting Baldur's Gate 3. The level of possibilities and differing experiences here is outrageous, and it so brilliantly translates the experience of tabletop D&D into a video game

It may not even be October yet, but my spooky senses are already tingling. House of Usher looks like a fun, ghoulish, revenant vs wealthy dynasty saga that's basically a Poe's greatest hits album for the modern day. Sign me up.
