FOREIGN NATIONALS FLEE AS POLICE DESCEND ON HILLBROW
A large-scale law enforcement operation in Hillbrow, Johannesburg, sparked fear and uncertainty after dozens of police vehicles flooded the area.
Witnesses said some foreign nationals hurriedly left the precinct as news of the operation spread, while several businesses around Dragon City, China Mall and China Mart reportedly closed their doors amid fears of immigration inspections and arrests.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the objective of the operation or the number of arrests made, but the raid has reignited debate over illegal immigration, law enforcement and its impact on businesses in Johannesburg's inner city.

In this video two Congolese Nationals are harassing Zambians in Congo and demanding to see their passports. Anger against xenophobia must be both ways. Hate South Africans for doing it, then when the same happens all times in Congo, you justify it & say "its an isolated incident"

A 28-year-old man was arrested at Cape Town International Airport after police discovered 150 live venomous scorpions hidden in his luggage during an intelligence-driven operation involving the Kuilsriver Stock Theft and Endangered Species Unit and CapeNature.
The suspect was charged under the Nature and Environmental Ordinance Act for illegal possession of wild animals.
The scorpions were safely removed and taken to a secure facility, while authorities are still determining their value.
He is expected to appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 15 June 2026.
