Every April #earlychildhood educators mark the Week of the Young Child. There could hardly be a better illustration of why than this clip from @sesamestreet which captures all the beauty and potential of our work. Be sure to watch until the end. #WOYC2022
For the week of April 18-24, focus will be on intervention and helping children worldwide who need our help most. I will not mention grade levels during our lessons. Please choose a session based on need. Let's make the rest of the school year count!

@SteveWyborney Your 2-22-22 math video/discussion points are so incredibly awesome. Thank you for all you do and give to math classrooms around the world. #mathiseverywhere
@gregtangmath Thank you so much for the quick reply! So appreciated! When comparing fractions, if the don't have common denominators already, should you stress using number sense of knowing relation to benchmarks of 0, 1/2, and 1 before going to common denominators? Thinking of order to teach
Not sure I understand 2nd question. 1st question: No reason to insist on Lowest Common Denominator in Gr 5 or ever – my opinion. ⅙ + ¼ = 4/24 + 6/24 = 10/24 = 5/12. For some, easier/faster to simplify at the end. Might be worthy goal to know LCD but should not be a requirement!
@gregtangmath Question on common denominator recorded lesson today: do you let lowest common denominator go? I see shortcut for comparing any fraction, do you also use it for adding and subtracting or more focus on LCD? Thanks!!
Happy Monday! Taught 6 student lessons today. I'm thinking to myself, with all the schools struggling to stay open, I'd love to make them available to everyone.
Join a recorded lesson with your students any time this Friday. They won't know it's not live! TangMath.com/UP
Ran into past student at our local rec center who was doing pre-calc homework. I asked if I could join in on the fun for a problem= so much fun!!! My 6 year old daughter watched our enjoyment= awesome. #GunnisonWatershed#ilovemath#challengesaregoodforthebrain
