'Shared widely already' yet why have #schools not been informed officially yet? The future funding of the #PEPremium looks to be in serious doubt not that we wholly object in light of misuse of this 'ring fenced' funding e.g. #Academies. What sustainable impact for #EYFS PD & PE?

#Parents #Teachers #Carers: Yet there is no public consultation for the policy of converting all remaining local maintained schools to #academies. This didn't feature within the election manifesto: labour.org.uk/updates/storie… Inspection hasn't even started for Multi-Academy Trusts.

We are very grateful for the forwarding of the following Observer article from an @EYFS specialist in Manchester - we agree naturally with the mounting concern that an increasing number of pupils join reception lacking motor, speech and hygiene skills: observer.co.uk/news/national/…

@warwickmansell Academy executives siphoning off money from school budgets, Trusts fiddling statutory annual ring fenced grant reports whilst Senior Leaders claim unlawful bonuses, represents a dark cloud upon the profession. @bphillipsonMP has not learnt from either yourself or Prof Pat Thomson

Current (staggering) number of story tip-offs coming in is easily outnumbering people signing up to educationuncovered.co.uk as new subscribers. This is not sustainable, in the long run. If you think my work has value, please show your support with a subscription: only 7p per day.

My path through academic promotion hasn't always been smooth; I’ve written often about the gender inequities. Because of those challenges, today feels like a powerful comeback. I’ve officially been awarded Principal Fellow - the pinnacle of recognition for teaching leadership ✨

@warwickmansell The ONGOING practice of pure greed by Academy Trust CEOs & their inflated ensemble of overpaid non-teaching senior leaders remains enabled by @educationgovuk -they should be acutely aware of the siphoning of essential budgets for EYFS provision;ring fenced grants & SEN provision

Revealed: Scores of academy trust leaders paid more than director of England’s largest education authority educationuncovered.co.uk/news/revealed-… And heads of five single-school academy trusts each had higher salaries than the person overseeing 444 non-academy schools in Hampshire

@vicgoddard @cerysturner7 It would appear that many #schools DO have the money - it is HOW Trust Leaders choose to spend it. Perhaps @TES should investigate further asking @bphillipsonMP why she continues to ignore the issue of excessive pay.Why are there are too many non-teaching leaders?

Artificial Intelligence is shaping the future. But one critical voice is missing from the conversation: the Early Years. In my latest blog, I explore why AI must be considered through the lens of childhood and human development. Read more here: leyf.org.uk/news/ai-care-a…

Children from LEYF nurseries and local parents have donated nearly 150 books to HMP Brixton for #WorldBookDay. This donation is about supporting families when a parent is in prison. If we want children to thrive,we can’t ignore the impact of imprisonment on families @LEYFonline

Yes of course: the system is top-down, run by central government and the academy trusts now. And re parental governor appointments, have shown how many trusts, including the biggest, fail even to follow rules in their own constitutions on this. It is ridiculous.
Active Matters@MattersActive

@warwickmansell @tes The pupils' parents then would also be deprived of a choice as well? How many Trusts even enable parental voice and representation via Governor appointments? We've read of far too many instances where Senior Leaders have made their own appointments away from parental backgrounds

@MattersActive @tes Would schools be able to choose for themselves? This lack of autonomy is one of the many criticisms of a policy overall that DfE doesn't seem to be dealing with.

If you knew anything about school improvement, then you would know that changing the legal structures of a school has absolutely no bearing on the outcomes of pupils and young people. Indeed the opposite.
Laura Trott MP@LauraTrottMP

If academy trusts really will be the main driver of system led improvement, as the Schools white paper said, why does Labour’s Schools Bill scrap the academy order that lets them turn around failing schools? I had hoped Bridget Phillipson had seen the light.
