Another lovely wee 2800 year old detail I spotted @BrightonMuseums on Saturday and of interest to @Matthew0Donnell: the frog-headed goddess Hekat (her name is given in #hieroglyphs above her head), a protective presence for the deceased on the exterior of a cartonnage coffin 🐸💚

@EgyptMcr @McrMuseum Oh wow!! I love these 💚🐸. Frogs are often linked with fertility in cultures around the world, would the same be the case in Egypt?

On #FrogFriday (remember that?!), here are two adorable amphibians I spotted in Cairo last month. 2000 years a part in date, one appears in the mastaba of Kagemni and the other on a shrine of Nectanebo I. Paging @Matthew0Donnell + @McrMuseum's #Vivarium team! 🐸

Check out this great pre-print from @amdecology ‘s MRes, which uses #eDNA to investigate links between amphibian communities and Bsal in the Netherlands. Very happy to have contributed to this project, with Bd’s scary little cousin! Hopefully will lead to further collaboration 🐸
