The 2025/26 comes to an end for @tivertontownfc and it has a number of highs and lows. If I’m honest, it was a particularly challenging season both on and off of the pitch but that’s football, progression is rarely a smooth ride. Focusing on the positives, the win against Taunton in January was a particular highlight. Dan Koita’s late winner was something I’ll remember for many years to come. The Woman’s and Boys Under 18s FA Cup runs were sensational and gave many people something to focus on during the Men’s first team struggles. The signing of the new 30 year lease on the grind was finally completed this week and the club now has foundations on which to build. There are so many people who deserve praise and thanks but if I tried to name everybody I’d miss a few so I’ll just highlight a few. First to our Chairman Ian Moorcroft who is stepping down from his role at the end of the season. It’s tough to sum up his contribution to the club but I’ll attempt to; he is up there with a handful of people who over the clubs history have had the biggest, positive impact. He is a ‘one in a million’ for certain, and we are all very thankful for everything he has done. Kimm Smith steps down from his role as Treasurer after at least forty years. He has been a constant for the club, one of the pillars that has supported the club through thick and thin. He’ll be impossible to replace, a true club legend. Deb Whiteway does so much behind the scenes, attempts to stay out of the limelight but contributes so much on a daily basis. Whether she’s sorting out the faulty boiler in the changing rooms, supporting players with welfare concerns or making trips to the wholesalers to stock up the fridges, without her the club would not function. And Viv Curtis, everybody knows Viv. She’s done so much since I rejoined and it’s been an absolute pleasure to work with her. She is as good an administrator as you could imagine and an even better human being. To my fellow committee members, Mark C, Mark F, Mike, Clare, Kimm, Viv and Deb and Rob along with previous members Andy and Olly, it was and is an absolute pleasure to work with you. I count each of you as true friends. And thank you to all of the staff, management, players, supporters and volunteers. Football is one of the only activities in life that brings so many different people together around one common interest. Love it. My time as Vice Chair now comes to an end although I’ll still be involved as much as I can. Three years is a long time running a club and in that time family, friends and work have all taken a lower position on the ‘priority list’. It’s time to change that, spend much more time with my family before they fly the nest and let others with enthusiasm, passion and ability move the club on. We have a great club, with fantastic people and a strong community. Step forward, be part of it and make history. Onwards and upwards 💛

The only way this project gets completed is for the community to come together and drive it though. It’s down to the people of Tiverton and the surrounding areas to create something for the community, create a foundation for football in the area for many years to come 💛

👉 devontoday.com/relegated-tive… This is a milestone for the club. Huge amounts of hard work have gone into getting to this point, some of the hurdles we had to jump over had been a challenge. Lots of people have contributed, none more so then XL Planning and Glenn Crocker who have been incredible. There is still a lot to do though. The club needs to form a task force to see this project through. If you are interested please get in touch. Onwards and upwards 💛

It’s tough at the moment, when it rains it pours (quite literally!). This week saw @SouthWestWater drainage system back up and flood our pitch which added to the huge amount of rain we have had for what feels like months has made it impossible to carry out the pitch improvements we have planned. Playing two home games in three months puts a serious strain on finances, and it’s very difficult for the team to build any momentum with games being called off regularly. The forecast for the next couple of weeks appears to show the weather will be tricky and no amount of hard work will change this. Clubs up and down the south west are struggling, and volunteers continue to work day and night to keep these teams afloat. Perhaps there needs to be some form of support from the @fa ? We’ll see. In the meantime thank you to everyone at @tivertontownfc who are volunteering their time to try to get games on, and keep things ticking over behind the scenes, you are the lifeblood of the club 💛

MATCH POSTPONED 🌧️ Following the recent weather and continued weather warnings, an early pitch inspection was carried out at The Slee Blackwell Solicitiors Stadium this afternoon, following the inspection tomorrow’s fixture against Evesham United has been postponed. A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course. #OneTownOneTeamOneTivvy💛

Tag someone who needs this at their non-league football club 🏷️ Clubhouse can now project your matchday revenue weeks in advance to help with club and financial planning 📊📈📉 It takes into consideration: - Weather forecast - Temperature at kick off - Historical fixtures against opposition - Day of the week the game is played - Proximity of the away team (likelihood of bringing more away fans) - Both teams form (heavily predicated on the home team's form) It will then overlay costs associated to the matchday (staff wages, medical, security, pro-rata utility bills and even the cost of your playing squad that match). This will give you a true profit centre per matchday for your club. Join the waiting list now, this is going to change the game ➡️ clubhousefootball.co.uk

📊 FIXTURES AND PROJECTED INFORMATION I'm going to design the fixtures section to include: 🌧️ % chance of the game being on/off (live update) 💰 if it’s at home it’ll predict the matchday revenue and attendance based on historical data against that opposition, the date, the fact it's a Tuesday/Saturday and the weather as well as other factors like school holidays and major sporting events clashing ✅ % chance of winning by analysing the form of both teams, your team's current player injuries and previous meetings between the two sides 📈 Therefore it'll also highlight the form of both teams clearly ☀️ The current forecasted weather for 3PM that day 🏃 It will also flag any stand out performances against this team previously, from individuals in your squad (ie. if @bobbyjoetaylor scored 2 against Gosport away, it'll remind you of that for Gosport at home) 🎄 It will also suggest any promotions or events that should be leveraged on the matchday eg. Grand National promotion if a fixture falls on the same day as the race and a way you could drive revenue alongside it from match going fans 🏇🏇 🎟️ If you connect Clubhouse to your online store or digital ticket provider it will also show a live count for home games on the number of digital tickets currently sold What else would you want the fixtures/matchday pages to do if you're a manager/chairman?

It’s hard to get your head around how a country like the US can change so quickly and so dramatically. From what many would consider a beacon of freedom, a world leader to what they now are under #trump How so many people still back this wannabe dictator, somebody who treats allies with such contempt at the same time as costing up with other dictators and brutal regimes in unfathomable. On the flip side, the ‘left’ are partly to blame. The constant pushing of ideologies that few believe in and the ‘you must believe in everything we believe in’ created this new wave of the far right. Both sides of the spectrum are to blame for the current situation and we all now have to experience a new world order. Abysmal.

Today was a good day 😍 Fantastic performance from the lads, huge effort by volunteers to get the game on and then cope with a big attendance, epic effort 👏 Delighted for Asa, Steve and David. Results haven’t gone our way this season despite performances being good, but over the last two games we’ve shown that results can match performances. And a thank you to the Taunton Stewards for assisting our Stewards (who do a great job as usual). Onwards and upwards 💛

It becomes quite frustrating knowing that so many teams at various levels break the rules when it comes to paying players to avoid tax and NI. Tough to compete when you follow the rules. The two big ‘cheats’ are paying players in cash off the books and paying players via expenses. For clarity, you cannot pay players via expenses unless they are legitimate. You can’t pay players cash which isn’t declared. Even if the FA don’t act through incompetence or lack of man power, the HMRC eventually will and it will be the players as well as the clubs they go after. The stories I’ve heard over the last few months include a local team (doing very well) paying their players entirely via expenses, a club paying a small amount via the club and topping up significantly via the Manager/Chairman/Director and many more. The Southern League were on the verge of implementing a form which detailed payment agreement for non contract players but pulled it at the last minute at the beginning of the season. I wonder why?
