@OnTapPhysio @TurnBomb15 By no means am I denying a lot needs to be changed in AT (attitudes, pay, “good ol boys club mentality, etc), but I do feel as though that comparison isn’t equal (apples to oranges) based on educational standards, etc

Genuine question for athletic trainers, reply requested: How many from your graduate cohort are still practicing as an AT? For me, 5/16 ATs still 5+ years out.

@TurnBomb15 I think out of my class of 5 (graduated in 2012, 2 guys and 3 girls) 4 of us are still practicing athletic trainers and the other is an imaging technician now

The goal of teaching should not be to help the students learn how to memorize and spit out information under academic pressure. The purpose of teaching is to inspire the desire for learning in them and make them able to think, understand, and question.

@GreenMegAndHam I spent roughly 11 years in the secondary school setting prior to moving to the collegiate and never once had that happen. Very concerning indeed!

@johndelf99 I will say as an athletic trainer where there are still states that have no or minimal regulation for us (CA mainly) I am not shocked. But I fully believe it should be regulated for strength coaches as well
