@cmneapac Hi, I'm Max Dike with the Columbia Missourian, I was at the board meeting on Monday. I had a few questions about the exchange teachers program, would you be interested in getting in touch?

The discussion should have been about offering personal support, asking how they are doing in our community and wanting to meet them. I am personally upset with the direction that conversation went. I have met a few of our international teachers and am so glad they are here!

I do not even know how to begin to describe the board discussion surrounding support of our international teachers, and statements made that they may be receiving more than other teachers. The supports they may receive is to allow them to have transportation within the community

Columbia School Board member Katherine Sasser has just announced her resignation, effective tomorrow. In her tearful speech, she called Columbia “a special place.” More to come @CoMissourian

Columbia Public Schools and the Columbia School Board violated state statute by not initially accepting former state Rep. Chuck Basye’s filing for candidacy, Judge Hasbrouck Jacobs ruled Monday. TBD: Whether he will appear on the April ballot. Story to come @CoMissourian
