Rosa Mariella Rivera Acevedo, instó a todos los actores a fortalecer el sistema electoral, siendo la democracia resultado del esfuerzo de toda la nación. Agregó que aspira a liderar un organismo electoral que consolide la confianza ciudadana y que se distinga por su transparencia, independencia y compromiso con la legalidad, a la altura de las aspiraciones del pueblo de Guatemala. Las autoridades electorales titulares de la Octava Magistratura son: la presidenta, Rosa Mariella Josabeth Rivera Acevedo; Roberto Estuardo Morales Gómez, magistrado vocal II; Karin Virginia Romero Figueroa, magistrada vocal III; Quelvin Otoniel Jiménez Villalta, magistrado vocal IV y Mario Alexander Velásquez Pérez, magistrado vocal V. IFES is deeply saddened by the passing of Judge Miriam Barahona of the @TjeHonduras Tribunal de Justicia Electoral Honduras (TJE). Despite tremendous political headwinds, Judge Barahona served with an unwavering commitment to judicial independence and democratic integrity in Honduras. And even as her health deteriorated, she remained dedicated to her heavy responsibilities and to securing the benefits of democracy for her fellow citizens. Judge Barahona leaves behind a powerful legacy of public service. Polls closed at 4:00 PM across Colombia in today’s Congressional elections. With voting concluded, electoral officials have begun the secure destruction of unused ballots, an important safeguard that protects the integrity of the process and prevents any potential misuse. 🇨🇴🗳️

🇨🇴 Colombia is about halfway through Election Day! Colombians are at the polls today to decide a new Congress and to select candidates from three major coalitions in a primary-style contest ahead of a presidential election in May. ☑️Voters are choosing from over 3,000 candidates, including two proxies for an "AI candidate" named Gaitana, to fill 102 Senate seats and 182 House seats. IFES Vice President @CJL202 and Regional Director @Maxzal2012 joined the official international observer mission, where they are visiting polling sites in the capital Bogota to speak with voters and election workers. One voter showed them the special ballot provided for blind and vision impaired voters. #Colombia #ElectionDay
