Thank you to the American Legion for hosting this moving tribute, and to the Lions Club and Spaeth Property Services for their hard work setting up this incredible display. It’s a powerful reminder of what community and gratitude look like here in West Side.

The Park of Heroes is officially open on the Town Common. Hundreds of flags now stand proudly in recognition of our veterans, each one representing a story of service and sacrifice.

Sidewalk extensions on Piper, Prospect, and Brush Hill are also under design and will begin construction after Birnie is completed. Another big step toward making West Side safer, more walkable, and connected for everyone!

Last Friday, the DPW and I walked Birnie Avenue with our sidewalk design team to finalize the layout for the first two phases of the new sidewalk project, set to begin next spring.

Big thanks to the State Senate—and especially our State Senator John Velis—for taking action to keep phones out of classrooms. Their recent vote to support a ban mirrors the steps we took last year at West Springfield High School and are expanding to the middle school this fall.
