This morning, @the_serunjogi and the Heamatology team @MulagoReferral @MinofHealthUG @InternalmedMak @MakCHS_SOM @MakerereCHS @Makerere presented an 18 year old male who presented with fever, bleeding gums and hematmesis for two weeks on the background of epistaxis and bleeding gums for several years. Final diagnosis was Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia.

Today’s miniround presentation was of an 18/M with 1 week history of fever later followed by bleeding from the gums and hematemesis. What’s your first thought process?
The patient was eventually diagnosed with AML. Thank you team hematology.

Not all hysterectomy patients end up in ICU like you allege.
Importantly, the hospital does acknowledge removal of the uterus. There's more than meets the eye..

Just watched that lady accusing Intern Drs of doing a hysterectomy on her / removing her uterus. We just have to set some facts straight. 1. Intern Drs don't do hysterectomies. If done, it's under very strict supervision. The most they do is assist 2. A hysterectomy is a complicated procedure. Even when House Officers are doing them, they inform specialists. 3. The decision to do a hysterectomy is multidisciplinary. These patients always end up in ICU. Interns don't admit to ICU 4. A hysterectomy is literally the last decision anyone wants to make, and in most cases it's to save someone's life. Misinformation at its peak. Do better @ntvuganda
