@EODHappyCaptain I still call it National. Old habits. We used to watch planes land from Gravelly Point and I marveled at so many aircraft.

Flying out of DCA Reagan this morning. It feels surreal that tragedy just hit here. Long lines with people who were supposed to fly yesterday rebooking. A lot of press on the way in and off in the corner in the terminal.

All of the flights out of Honolulu are delayed…& likely canceled. My friend from Baumholder in the ‘90’s who teaches in this class with me is also delayed. She ran over a care kit w Imodium & Pepto & barf bag. I feel loved.

@MelissasLibrary @BSLW Thanks so much for the info, Melissa. I'm most interested. Just curious: I understand that the VMI Corps visited the Tenn. Centennial fest in 1897. A teenaged Frank Andrews led 1 or more youth groups active at the site. (Boy Scouts didn't exist yet.) Any chance of discoveries?

Yesterday 214 boxes of the George C. Marshall Papers left the #MarshallFoundationLibrary to be scanned by @BSLW, the beginning of a gigantic digitization project that will make the entire collection freely available. The individual-document metadata will take several years.

There are no words. #HolocaustRemembranceDay

@EThomasWood @BSLW The Chief of Staff years have been scanned and received metadata; we are working on getting them into the library catalog this spring. There isn't a list, specifically, but the ongoing project will have all of the Marshall Papers online in the next few years.

@MelissasLibrary @BSLW Hooray! Can the public access a list of what is be online? GCMRL has done a great job digitally over the years, but I can't wait for this project to play out.

@AndrewRawson11 I would look for them elsewhere rather than pay a lot of money.

A #CollectionsHighlight from the #MarshallFoundationLibrary -- a recently digitized photo of Gen. George and Mrs. Katherine Marshall in formal attire to attend a function in Pinehurst, N.C., in January 1950. Snazzy dressers, they are!

Another semester begins today @VMI1839, and I'm excited that beginning in February, the #MarshallFoundationLibrary will be open Tuesday evenings until 10 p.m. so that resources will be available #InTheLibrary for college students and faculty from the local campuses.

Busy week at the #MarshallFoundationLibrary. Researchers Helena, Elizabeth, and Malachi use archival records; and volunteers Eryn and Sue work on projects that make items easier to locate. Tanziha and I try to keep up #InTheLibrary!

@Tunisia_1943 Gen. George Marshall didn't take notes or keep a journal. There is information sprinkled throughout letters, and we have photos from the Casablanca Conference.

@MelissasLibrary He visited Tunisia in 1943. Did he write about it?
