On Gloria and Sara apparent move on Dy NUMBERS OVER NOISE: HOUSE “COUP” TALK FALLS FLAT 🇵🇭 Reports of a House leadership shake-up to install Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as Speaker point to a political maneuver aimed at shielding Sara Duterte. But the math doesn’t add up. I said to the X space last night that there may be an aspiration but VPs support in the Congress is not strong and despite Arroyo’s influence and alliances, Speaker Dy and Cong. Marcos retains firm loyalty from the House majority. More importantly, changing the Speaker doesn’t stop impeachment. Once referred, the process moves under constitutional rules, not personalities. At this stage, the process is already underway. In the end, numbers matter more than narratives. The administration’s legislative strength still outweighs any backroom play, leaving the VP’s camp with limited room to maneuver as accountability takes focus.
