Shooting in IMAX makes no sense imo. Film still needs to be digitally scanned to 8k for DI. So people who will watch The Odyssey on IMAX 70mm are watching digital content transferred to film. Just shoot and exhibit in 8k HDR. Higher detail, brighter, better contrast, better colors, cheeper, faster, & the precious IMAX film look for purists can be 100% achieved in post with a button push

Points for engagement bait. Anyway curious if Tesla will continie to differentiate HW4 UI from HW3 - especially in terms of realtime 3D rendering (something HW3 obvi can barely handle). HW4 already has a higher frame rate FSD visualization, but would love to see the real time photoreal OpenGL on the 3D interactive splash screen extend to the FSD visualization with things like photoreal vehicles/people/road signs etc. not to mention an overhauled 3D rendered UI with GL accelerated depth, shading, transparency, subtly 3D buttons etc, instead of the current (and boring) vector/image based UI.

This is going to sell way more than the previous white interior. I have a few friends who still worry about sitting on my pristine bright white seats fearing they’d get them dirty just by wearing jeans. I know it’s irrational, but that’s the reality. Now, more new buyers will have less concern with this perceptively more forgiving interior and will more likely buy the upsell.

This is our first real look at the new Zen Grey interior in the Giga Shanghai built Model Y. Maybe a hot take, but I like this much more than the (now discontinued) White interior. The Zen Grey gives a slightly warmer/softer tone without leaning too much into a creamy color.

@SawyerMerritt Looks amazing. As much as I love my white interior, this *almost* white should show less color transfer & dirt between cleanings, but is still striking. Will likely get more orders due to the light gray color not being as bright and worrying first timers ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tesla has released a video of the new Zen Grey interior from Giga Shanghai built Model Y Premium trims. The White interior has been discontinued. With Zen Grey, the following trim pieces are no longer black like they were in the white interior: • Arm rests • Door grab handles • Center console arm rest & side console trim • Trim around wireless charging area

@SawyerMerritt A shame Tesla refuses to offer more luxury options like natural leather. Tesla builds great cars but the shiny plastic seats put me off buying one. Tesla could learn a lesson from the like of BMW and Mercedes who are masters at offering very tempting very profitable options.

Gerry McGovern was responsible for the highly praised Land Rover redesign, whose ’modern minimalism’ redefined the brand and made it a global leader in the luxury SUV space. Also the Jaguar Type 00 was overseen by Massimo Frascella, who left JLR right after to become Audi’s new design chief. In fact, Audi’s new design language (previewed by the Concept C) has many obvious similarities to the Jaguar Type 00. So assigning the usual anti-woke bs on this JLR employee shuffle is irrelevant and boring. FYI the production version of the Type 00 is still on track for a ‘26 reveal and ‘27 production

NEWS: Jaguar has fired design boss Gerry McGovern, who led the design team for the controversial Type 00 concept (pictured below). Earlier this year, Jaguar said it was fine losing its current customer base: "Jaguar is fine with targeting a different audience, even if that means saying goodbye to most of its existing customers."

Elon's claim that it's illegal to show ID when voting in CA or NY is not supported by official sources. CA and NY don't require ID for most voters, and CA's recent law (SB 1174) bans local ID mandates but doesn't prohibit showing ID. Some voters may still be asked for it. California and New York do not require voter ID for most voters, per state laws. However, ID may be requested in specific cases, like for some first-time voters in CA.
