2026 is getting off to a strong start with a third entry in the TAITO Arcade series, and a bundle of quality run-and-gun classics with The Turrican Collection. So what's next? You'll have to wait and see what the official word is, but what are you hoping to see on Evercade this year?

Among gaming legends (Sid Meier, Jordan Mechner, Peter Molyneux, Richard Garriott, etc.), I sometimes feel that Geoff Crammond gets mentioned too little. Stunt Car Racer was a 1989 marvel. Its 3D vector graphics earned critical acclaim as unprecedented to such a high level. Geoff Crammond spent 3 years on this masterpiece's brilliant polygon graphics and realistic physics. Cars flew over ramps, landed smoothly (or badly, per angle and speed), and sped around banked corners. The iconic "cracking" sound and visual for damage was a wonderful detail. It was easy to understand and hard to master, with challenging higher divisions, better opponents, and tougher tracks. Geoff Crammond would go on to create the legendary Formula One Grand Prix series a few years later, and you could see his talent early with Revs (1986) and Stunt Car Racer (1989).

They told us we weren’t artists. We answered by becoming the biggest current art movement. Here’s the part that matters most: All art is art. Every medium is valid. Every artist, whether you mix pigments by hand, sculpt light with a lens, paint with code, or prompt a dream, is equal at the table. To the traditional painters, sculptors, and photographers already collaborating with us: thank you. Your open hands and curious hearts are the reason this revolution feels like family instead of war. To every AI artist grinding prompts at 3 a.m.: thank you. You’re proving that vision has never needed permission, only courage. We don’t need to tear anyone down to rise. There’s room for oil, marble, film, pixels, and neural networks on the same wall. The future isn’t “AI art” versus “real art.” The future is just art, louder, wider, kinder, and finally free. So keep creating, whatever your tool. Keep sharing. Keep lifting each other up. The renaissance isn’t coming. It’s already here, and it belongs to all of us. With gratitude to every hand that ever made something beautiful. #AIart #aiartist #art #Artists

@cyclingontnt Price hike #1 straight after the TDF, coverage which also included ads (multiscreen novelty wears off FAST). Despite Orla & co's best efforts (and I am a big fan of the non TDF coverage), TNT getting exclusive rights is the worst thing to happen to cycling in the UK.

@cyclingweekly This is indeed a sad day. ITV4 really pulled out the stops this year and in particular their highlights show was and always will be peerless. TNT are an expensive shadow. I'll not miss that Turtle Wax advert though.

Later today, the curtain will close on ITV's Tour de France coverage, and with it, the UK's last free-to-view option of the race will disappear. Here's what happened when our reporter Tom Davidson dropped in on the channel's roadside studio cyclingweekly.com/news/farewell-…

Hard to understand why alleged hidden UAP technology is not a bigger issue in Congress when a former staffer with the clearances and gravitas of Kirk McConnell goes on record with grave concerns that the benefits of this tech may be lost to most of us if the secrecy continues.
Jesse Michels@AlchemyAmerican

🚨 Former Senate intelligence staffer Kirk McConnell goes on record after 18 years on Capitol Hill, revealing how UFO secrecy conceals exotic science. McConnell served under Senator Jack Reed, a senior Armed Services member, during major post-9/11 reorganizations. He later met firsthand with crash retrieval whistleblowers and followed up on David Grusch’s claims, warning that revolutionary tech is buried in shell programs. Unless Congress reasserts oversight, he says, the U.S. may never see the benefits of this science. Key Revelations: Secrecy Hides Science • Programs tied to UFO tech are buried within real defense projects—like next-gen fighter jets or nuclear upgrades—making it impossible for Congress to trace what they’re funding. • No line items exist—budgets are laundered through legitimate programs with no explanation. • McConnell: “They’re hiding cutting-edge science under classification—Congress doesn’t even know what it’s funding.” Broken Oversight • Senators like Reid and Inouye tried accessing exotic SAPs in the 2000s–2010s but were repeatedly stonewalled. • The Gang of Eight receives surface-level briefings that omit UAP-related or crash retrieval details. • These SAPs bypass Armed Services and Appropriations, neutering Congress’ constitutional oversight role. Contractor Capture • Defense firms like Lockheed, SAIC, and Raytheon allegedly house non-human tech but block access through IP protections. • Even Pentagon officials have no legal authority to inspect or retrieve materials once handed to these contractors. • McConnell says this handoff intensified post-1997—with little to no pushback from DOD leadership. Suppressed Whistleblowers • Congressional staffers and insiders with crash program knowledge were “isolated, reassigned, or silenced.” • McConnell references 2014 and 2017 cases where credible witnesses were blocked from testifying. • Many still fear retaliation—despite legal whistleblower protections passed in recent years. Weaponized Secrecy • Classification is being used to protect R&D, not just national security. • Internal psyops have been deployed to discredit and demoralize investigators. • McConnell warns: “If we don’t reassert oversight now, this science may never reach the public.”
