🇬🇷🇹🇷 L’une des erreurs les plus répandues consiste à croire que les Grecs auraient été remplacés par les Turcs. Petite explication: Les Turcs et les Grecs présentent indéniablement un certain nombre de proximités génétiques, fruit d’interactions anciennes et répétées. Tout au long de l’histoire, les circulations humaines entre la Grèce et l’Anatolie ont été constantes, depuis les Minoens jusqu’aux établissements grecs en Anatolie, sans oublier l’échange de populations organisé au XXe siècle entre Grèce et Turquie. Néanmoins, une confusion fréquente consiste à interpréter ces interactions comme le produit d’un remplacement démographique massif, alors qu’il s’agit plus fondamentalement d’un processus de substitution linguistique et culturelle des idiomes anatoliens. À la suite des conquêtes d’Alexandre le Grand, les populations d’Anatolie ont été engagées dans un lent processus d’hellénisation, marqué à la fois par des phénomènes d’acculturation et de métissage. Grecs et Anatoliens, géographiquement contigus, coexistaient depuis longtemps, en particulier dans les zones littorales, tandis que le grec s’imposait progressivement comme langue de communication à grande échelle, de la mer Égée jusqu’aux confins de l’Indus surtout après la conquête d'Alexandre le Grand. Cette dynamique ne relevait pas uniquement des échanges entre Grecs et Anatoliens, mais également d’une interaction complexe entre les multiples langues et cultures anatoliennes elles-mêmes: louvite, lydien, carien, ainsi que le celte introduit par les Galates, contribuant à faire du grec une langue commune, fonctionnelle et prestigieuse. La disparition de la dernière langue anatolienne ne survient que tardivement, aux Ve–VIe siècles, sous le règne de l’empereur romain Justinien Ier, soit près de 7 siècles après les conquêtes alexandrines, ce qui souligne la lenteur et la profondeur de ces transformations culturelles. Par la suite, ces populations, déjà profondément imprégnées d’hellénisme, furent progressivement intégrées dans un nouveau cadre politique, religieux et linguistique à partir du XIe siècle, avec l’arrivée de groupes turcs venus de l’espace iranien. Ce processus de turquisation, d’islamisation et de métissage ne relève pas davantage d’un remplacement brutal de population que d’une recomposition progressive des identités. L’adoption de l’islam par les populations anatoliennes héritières du monde gréco-romain s’accompagnait fréquemment d’une reconfiguration culturelle et sociale, dans laquelle la langue turque/persane tendait à s’imposer comme vecteur d’intégration religieuse, dans un contexte où l’appartenance religieuse et l’identité ethnolinguistique finissaient par se superposer.

@Joanna1856826 @BasedTurkiiye Alexander identified himself as Macedonian, not Greek. He spoke Greek, like Mehmed the Conqueror of istanbul, but considered himself separate from the Hellenes. Macedonians do not accept that Alexander was Greek, and therefore they argue with the Greeks about this matter.

@BasedTurkiiye Büyük iskender kendisini Yunanlı değil Makekodanyalı olarak tanımlardı. Yunanca bilirdi Fatih Sultan Mehmet gibi ama kendini Helenlerden ayrı görürdü. Makedonyalılar iskenderin Yunanlı olduğu kabul etmezler. Bu nedenle Yunanlarla bu konuda tartışırlar.

The tribunal created a 12-nautical-mile enclave around them. The main UK-France median line was drawn almost unaffected by the islands.

@EYakoby The Greeks committed a massacre similar to the one in the Peloponnese against the Turkish Cypriots between 1960 and 1974. Greece was founded on genocide against the Turks. Türkiye did not allow the same thing to happen in Cyprus.

@EYakoby Turks have never left Cyprus for 500 years. Britain temporarily governed the island but did not completely hand it over to the Greeks. The Turks are one of the three founding states of Cyprus, established in 1960, and also a guarantor state

@Makos017 @skaigr There is no official statement from Türkiye indicating that it will occupy the islands. The point of contention here is maritime jurisdiction and the militarization of the islands. You and I cannot resolve this issue.

@Metincelikel @skaigr That was International Law of the time and has nothing to do with the agreement between the two. Turkey renounced all rights outside the borders described in the treaty.
