Percent of Louisville households that do not even own a single car. When you build only for cars instead of transit, bikes, and walking options across the county, you are leaving up to 50% of households behind and unsafe. Based on 2022 Census tract data: data.census.gov/map/040XX00US2…

Love this graphic from @NYC_DOT on the 9th Avenue transformation. Right now 51% of the people who use the street are on foot and 10% are on bikes, but only 30% of the space is dedicated to pedestrians and only 6% for cyclists. nyc.gov/html/dot/html/…

No absolutely not. There’s a metro stop right there.Want to invest in something actually useful? Invest in BRT with permanent dedicated lanes with ruthless enforcement 24\7 service and sub 15 min headways

The Commanders want to build massive parking decks, up to 110 feet or 11 stories tall, new filings show. Renderings don't do it justice but it'll poke out in the skyline. axios.com/local/washingt…

JD Vance got rich insulting the people of Appalachia. And though he pretends he’s from Kentucky, he’s actually from Butler County, Ohio — where I'll be on Saturday night in a room full of fired-up Democrats.

📢Big changes coming to Ninth Avenue! 9thAve in Midtown/Hell’s Kitchen will get wider sidewalks, a wider protected bike lane, and an extended bus lane to 50th St. This redesign will reduce sidewalk crowding, improve bus reliability and expand cycling infrastructure.

This used to be one traffic lane, now it’s two traffic lanes. Rearranging street space can add tremendous capacity.

@RVA_DOT I agree only if you're not taking traffic lanes to do so.

@cityresearch If bollards were allowed at street corner intersections, they would prevent almost all of these incidents of car drivers crashing through and into occupied buildings.

@ruahnation @cityresearch Crashing into buildings. Better street design, concrete, and corner bollards would prevent almost all of these building crashes. Lots can be done.

It's morning rush hour in the middle of the week. Traffic must be really bad to justify spending $4,400,000,000 on a companion bridge (plus yet to be announced costs for renovating 6 miles of interstate & reconfiguring the existing bridge) Let's check. Turns out it's fine.
