Hilarious this tongue in cheek tweet was somewhat controversial in what was a silly reference to the unserious but entertaining show “Industry” on HBO. A few comments: 1) A $2mm bonus for Sweetpea on tiny team of 3 on $110mm profit with the common 2 and 20 structure is actually insulting, and I don’t think she was pleased. $22mm of incentive comp or bonus pool (assumes 2 pct mgmt fee covers most of the fixed costs) leaves a big bonus pool for someone that got her nose broken (could have been way worse) and was part of a hedge fund that clearly traded on material non public information (ie Yasmin sharing the Tender fraud w Harper). Sweetpea legitimately got screwed and shouldn’t be happy - a stupid amount of risk for a relatively low payout. In a realistic world, they would all likely be in jail for SEC violations. In the multi manager world (ignoring details on expenses and how guarantees may be netted against bonuses,) the basic rule of thumb is that the PM takes half of the incentive pool and analysts the rest. Sweetpea should have demanded $5mm even if some of that was deferred which is standard 2) I don’t think Sweetpea was being modest at all about her Onlyfans potential - I think she truly believed what she said. A very Sweetpea comment. It would be very on brand for her to believe she could make millions with feet pics 3) The whole show got pretty unserious pretty early on with sadly the most accurate part being that poor analyst dying from being overly stressed about stupid PowerPoint formatting crap in Season 1 x.com/blueprintsmb22…
