Every semester I administer a mid-semester questionnaire (anonymous) to see how students are doing. This is much more helpful to me than end-of-year evals bc I still have the 2nd half of the semester to make modifications. Below are the 10 questions I ask on Google Forms: (1/5)

It's crucial to provide better pay to PhD students so that they can focus on work and rest without the added stress of financial insecurity. It would also prevent burnout from balancing multiple jobs, & help to reduce financial barriers for those from less privileged backgrounds.

One of our aims is to promote &protect Bebington’s rich history. In spirit of this, we’ve renovated 1 of the historic milestones in #Bebington It was installed in 1901 & turns 121yrs old this yr! The milestone was laid before the launch of the Titanic & has survived 2 world wars!
