@pixeymew patches are fixed and more of the stronger items are in the game. Getting really good team synergy through the in game recruitment can be hard and it may lock you into a single team that you don’t enjoy as much as you thought. So purchasing at least the starter pack may be needed

@pixeymew How familiar are you with competitive formats and how sweaty do you wanna be? And also how much money do you wanna spend up front? If you’re relatively new, it’s a great starting point in spite of the bugs and is very accessible. If you wanna be super sweaty, maybe wait until-

@itsbloomm_ Trick room is a great strat you just have to be able to get it off and hope that your remaining mons are bulky enough to live through the initial hits from turn 1, and hopefully don’t get picked off by something like an aqua jet or sucker punch in the following turn
