@KristofSay59189 Yesterday was a good sign, but still will be a tough job to qualify. 50/50 This song needs tight camera work, paired with a strong visual. We pray RTBF knows this 🙏🙏

The day after EiC. Lot's of incredible performances. It's such an interesting year. But on this account we are mostly focused on Belgium 🇧🇪, and Essyla 👑 I've seen a few video's of her performance yesterday, and it's just incredible how she sounds. On par with the best. Q% 💹

@ryannxescc It depends. I don't really see "Dancing on the Ice" as a full on "dance" song. It's a mid tempo pop song with danceable elements. Essyla is no dancer, so that energy will have to come from the dancers around her & the camera angles.

@chrisvdamme So happy for her. It's one thing to have people disliking a song. It's another to be called a horrible performer/vocalist, as a professional artist, by a whole country/fandom.

Good luck, to our Essyla tonight in Amsterdam! She will be nervous, she will probably not sing as well as she could (again). What she IS doing? Bringing the energy. 100% Have fun partying with all of these amazing artists, if you are there tonight. No time for negativity!

@KristofSay59189 Perfect/good vocals are not even that important. What is? Indeed: her getting more confident on stage. If that means having fun tonight, and not being flawless. Fine! Blanche was sick if i remember correctly.

@MikeK_ESC Agree. She needs to have fun. And then all will come. I remember 2017 with Blanche. The first showcase was not good either and she even canceled Eurovision in concert out of fear. 1 advice: trust the process

Still kinda proud of what he did with the staging. One of the coolest things i've ever seen at Eurovision. Sucks that the song was just not good enough. VRT needs to continue this path, if/when they participate again.

@milan_o12 VRT tried to be different with the way they staged this.. i appreciate them for trying risky elements, not playing it safe. Too unsafe maybe for "regular" viewers, to the point of them being confused.

It's not important what people complain about. She herself acknowledged the fact the performance was pretty bad all around. Now let's see how it improves. Part of the journey for her, and us.

So Essyla says she can sing the song and all of a sudden the people complaining about her voice say it was never really about that, like does the fandom have dementia?? If she's having fun on stage in Amsterdam and sings well people will find something else to complain about.

@JeMappellePercy In the end this performance got the respect he/it deserved. But he started in the freezer. The "Belgium" chanting was truely heartwarming. I, and Belgium, is thankful for this.

@MikeK_ESC Thing is I think the song was good enough, it was just too intense for casual voters. The whole arena was chanting “Belgium! Belgium! Belgium!” as they read out the last qualifier.

@JeMappellePercy There have been intense songs in the past, that were highly popular since that song released. Hatrid mun Sigra, Hard Rock Hallelujah etc... and did very well. Strobe Lights flopped about everywhere & there was no hype for it pre-contest. Signs of a not so strong basis, right?
