Celtic B are set to play their final game in the Lowland League this weekend, according to a new report. Now, according to the Scottish Sun, club chiefs have decided to pull the plug on the side after five seasons, with Celtic's hierarchy now looking to focus on 'expanding' their co-operation loans, following a successful partnership with Ayr United in the Scottish Championship. Academy trio Kyle Ure, Francis Turley, and Jude Bonnar have all had regular game-time out at the Somerset Park side, with Ben Summers also joining in January. Additionally, other young prospects such as Josh Clarke (Partick Thistle), Aiden Rice (Dumbarton), and Andrew Kyle (East Kilbride) have also benefitted from loans at a higher level, which may have influenced Celtic's decision regarding their B team. Their final game will come against East Stirling at Ochilview, with Jonny Hayes' side currently sitting in ninth place, out of 18 teams. Only one player from the B team has gone on to start for Celtic's first team, in the shape of Owen Moffat, who featured against St Mirren in December 2021 under Ange Postecoglou.
