in terms of smash, i still think the best way to end the game would be on master chief, but i'm not so sure about him anymore. i'm thinking the smtv protagonist is pretty likely (which i think is a little boring given half the dlc has been jrpg characters)

i think that might just be me being old though. i just prefer buying individual games and keeping them. i much preferred the virtual console approach.

the direct itself was pretty good though. kirby is finally changing things up, bayonetta 3 looks awesome, dread still looks incredible, and banjo is coming to switch. my only real complaint is that i'm still not crazy about retro games being locked behind a subscription service.

i am POSITIVE they will do a joke where some side character voiced by charles martinet will do his "mario impression" and he'll do the game mario voice and then chris pratt mario will be like "i dont sound like that".

insanely funny casting aside, i'm actually more interested in the mario movie now. i was so sure they'd do a fish-out-of-water movie about "mario in the real world", but having characters like cranky and spike make me think its gonna be an origin story which is neat

If I had to add another fighting game character, I probably would have tried to add someone a little more different from the ones we already have- like Nightmare from Soul Calibur or something. Still think the last character is Chief.

Kazuya's trailer was hilarious, and he's definitely not a bad addition. He's not for me, but he's far from a bad choice. I still think it'd be cool to get more underrepresented genres in Smash, so I don't think I would have added another fighting game character- but its cool.

Those are all my thoughts. REALLY feeling Master Chief for some reason, but other than that I'm really not sure what to expect. Very excited though! I'll post my thoughts afterwards.

Most wanted surprise: Diddy Kong Racing 2. With MK8D still selling so well, I doubt they want to cannibalize it with MK9. Pokemon Snap just got a sequel so I think its the perfect time for a DKR2. I also think Microsoft would let them use Banjo.
