Odd for Badenoch to be hammering welfare. Everyone knows the system needs reform, but the mess it is currently in is due to the previous Conservative government. Much easier targets she could have gone for. #PMQs

Well, well, well. Farage U-turns on the two-child benefit cap. Forced into it by some sort of unseen force. Utterly pathetic! What are the crypto billionaire, tax avoiding donors going to say about that? The tax they don't pay helping the poor. @Nigel_Farage @reformparty_uk

@narindertweets Farage is owned by a BiIIonaire. But Starmer bought a field for his disabled mother to keep her donkeys in. Oh yes.

Somebody remind me, how long did the media go on about some suits, pairs of glasses and concert tickets? Bought & owned by a man who doesnt live in Uk - Christopher Harbone previously funded Farage’s attendance at Donald Trump’s second inauguration, donated more than £13 million to the Brexit. He is also a key investor in the crypto. ....£5million is enough to secure you for life!!!! Will @Nigel_Farage resign? This is outrageous

Full-length Darren Jones speech on Badenoch’s stunt. In my humble opinion, Darren’s contribution to Labour has been significant.

Disgusted with #c4news Saw some passionate & sincere MPs making the case for rejecting the Tory motion to refer the PM to the Privilege Committee. They weren't as a result of the whip. But @mattfrei presents it as "MPs holding their nose" & the vote only "just" went in his favour

Ed Davey knows there is nothing there, how foolish of you.You should, could have been the opposition but you have messed that up by attacking the gov all the time as you are doing now. It's a terrible look.Shame on you.

‘I think there’s certainly a whole set of issues where he hasn’t given straight answers' Liberal Democrats leader Sir Ed Davey spoke to #BBCBreakfast ahead of a vote by MPs on if there should be an inquiry into whether Keir Starmer misled Parliament over the vetting process for Peter Mandelson as UK ambassador to the US bbc.co.uk/news/live/ce35…

Lots of humour in The King’s speech. All delivered with a twinkle in the eye. Content aside, simply as a public speaker, I’m not sure any British politician can match him

@likesretirement Since the Guardian joined the pile-on of Sir Keir Starmer I have considered ending my subscription. The 'New World' journal is a great read, and proves there is still balanced journalism to be found amongst all the RW rubbish.

So after some wrestling, because there are a couple of journalists who I do greatly admire writing for it still, including John Crace, I have cancelled it because I can't justify £18 a month to get angry. And I can still read articles, just with adverts #TheGuardian loss
Jane, Retired, Happy, Rejoiner 🌹@likesretirement

Hi @guardian Please can you tell me why I shouldn’t cancel my subscription? Your journalists appear to have joined the gutter press and lost all sense of impartial, genuine reporting. I’m waiting for you to convince me to stay

@PippaCrerar Now sink your teeth into Reform and in particular Farage's house purchase of £880k and his Epstein/Bannon/Brexit links, Tice's £120k tax dodging and Jenrick's £40k donation. You certainly won't need to make stuff up where these are concerned...

“What’s the basis for that?” Chief Secretary Darren Jones tells @lewis_goodall that accusations against Starmer aren't serious enough to warrant a Privileges Committee investigation.

This may well be the most effective dismantling of a journalist by a politician that I have seen in recent times. I say that with full consideration of the context. On LBC, Lewis Goodall appears to steer the discussion towards a predetermined conclusion, presenting assertions that do not align with the available facts and constructing a narrative that does not withstand scrutiny. In doing so, he goes as far as to suggest, almost to press for, the establishment of a Privileges Committee to investigate Keir Starmer. Yet the substance of that demand does not appear to be grounded in evidence, but rather in the continuation of a narrative that he himself is attempting to shape. There is a consistent pattern in his approach. Wherever he appears, there is a tendency to impose a storyline that extends beyond what the facts can reasonably support. If one were to look for an example of the more troubling aspects of modern political journalism, this would be difficult to overlook.

He's the most popular opposition leader in the country with a -8 approval rating. He's 44, working class, Jewish, vegan, a former actor turned politician who has tripled the Green Party's membership to 220,000. He calls genocide a genocide when other leaders reach for diplomatic language. He beat Reform in Gorton. He's polling joint first nationally. Is he ready for Number 10?
