@Mike__Pole What's going on? Is it the aliens come to save us from fossil fuels? Omg, what if turns out after all this time that they're the good guys and we're the scary ones.

@jwacarrollNZ Wow, wet ground and massive rain. Seems like it evolved from our rough weekend here.

'We're on a hill and get the most stupendous views of the countryside... and it's just an ocean - not a lake - an ocean.' - Heavy deluge turns Hawke's Bay valley into an 'ocean' rnz.co.nz/news/weather/5…

An 'ordinary' storm with extraordinary impacts: Why the Wellington deluge was so intense 'MetService reported that more than 70mm of rain fell in just one hour in parts of southern Wellington early on Monday morning.' rnz.co.nz/news/weather/5…

This rain... might be my fault. Last week I noticed how dry the garden was and hoped for a good fall of rain.

@Signsoflife27 😆 One of the very odd things about LOTR is the lack of NZ birds (I think. Someone can correct me on that…)

@HendrikGout Thanks Hendrik, finally found that tab, it doesn’t appear on an iPad. I’ll see how it goes. Still not sure why posts from people I follow, and interact with, have become almost equally split between ‘For you’ and ‘Following’.

@Mike__Pole Go to your Following icon. You'll see there are two settings there. One puts posts up in order of their popularity, the other by time of posting. Click on the time one. That might help to some degree.

Any particular reason half of what I do, and don’t want to see, is now on ‘Following’, and the other half of what I do and don’t, is on ‘For you’?

@llihhcruhc1 Yikes, yes, carry the lot out there. This was a couple who just wanted to walk up to Marion’s. Good jackets, but no beanies.

@Mike__Pole I’d suggest more than beenies. One year I was there a school group got caught between the summit and Watefall Valley Hut - short trek. Several shipped back in serious condition with hypothermia. You carry the lot out there or play Russian roulette

On the way up to Kitchen Hut today. Horrendous conditions. Got to the hut partly on hands and knees, then two of us had to dig our way in. Snow was up over the door latch. Family who were on day one of the Overland Track asked if they could follow me back out.
