For the folks suggesting that “Canal Street has always been like this” (many of whom are visibly out of staters) it might help you to learn a few things. First, I’ve personally lived in this precise corridor for YEARS and I have single handedly not only watched this zone grow steadily out of control, but have been filming its devolution piecemeal for the better part of nine months after I hit a point of intolerance. Second, the amount of residents and business owners in this 2 mile stretch who DM me on a daily basis confirming precisely this, folks who have lived here for DECADES, validate the same. Ask them. They will tell you that historically, there had been a group of mostly friendly Asian women with pamphlets selling knock off goods. But given their politeness and minimal intrusion, the police usually left them alone because they weren’t really bothering anyone. However, after and through our "migrant crisis'" (to call it a crisis is misleading; sanctuary city status is a choice. True crises are not), these folks have changed in tone and character, quality and quantity. Now, block after block is covered in trash, graffiti, squalor, and blight, and even a 3 minute stroll through the melee (if you can even manage to make it, given their wares, carts, blankets and debris covering entire sidewalks for blocks), is met with cat called women and drug offers, to say nothing of the naked hostility and open violence if you dare to bring a camera to film public streets. Third, if the stakeholders who actually live here (as opposed to the randoms online who reach back into a memory bank of visiting The Big Apple when they were a child!) was not enough for you, it may also help to know this exponential devolution was well documented by the Adams Administration during his entire tenure. He essentially got down on hands and knees in presentations pleading for help as he quoted a figure of 10,000 migrants arriving per month, before turning around and notching 12 billion in tax payer aid to them over a course of 5 years. Fourth, to the extent the peanut gallerists respond with “well how is that Zohran’s fault?!” - Zohran is the biggest proponent of sanctuary city EXPANSION in American history. If someone with common sense had been elected, they would have inherited a problem, absolutely. But that person could have begun to fix it, not balloon it. Fifth, and finally, arguing that problem X has "existed for decades", (even if that were true, which it is, of course, not) does little by way of convincing me, or anyone with brain cells, that problem X should not be immediately resolved. We do not have to live like this.

Throughout the ‘80s, I reported for the WSJ from the dying USSR and its satellites and cronies in Eastern Europe and Latin America. All the govt-run stores were a pathetic joke. People would line up not knowing what they were in line for because they needed everything. And when they got the stale food, or horribly made stuff with their ration cards they rightfully complained about how awful it all was. The worst were the hospitals, which besides the stores and schools, I always made a point of sneaking into and reporting on without a “minder.” They were so sad. In the poorest countries (Romania or Nicaragua) there were 2 to a bed. In Cuba, doctors asked me if I had dental floss, because they ran out of suture material. It was the same in EVERY Marxist country. When the govt runs everything, nothing is good for anyone…with the exception of the 1% ruling class. That’s the reality of socialist economies. There’s no middle class. Only a tiny ruling class and everyone else, who live like shit. It’s not a joke. It happens to every country in which it’s imposed, no matter the culture, the race, or the history. That’s the future that the useful idiots supporting Mamdani and other Marxists face. I’ve seen it once, and I hope I don’t live to see it in my lifetime in my own wonderful country.

Communist Zohran Mamdani has announced plans to open his first city-owned grocery. The cost to taxpayers? $30 million. Here's what happened when Kansas City opened a government grocery store: - Empty shelves - Rotten produce - Rampant theft This will work out just as well as Mamdani’s nonexistent free buses.

Hilarious cope. Inflation alone since 2019 has been 29.1%. So you're really taking credit for a real annualized GDP growth rate of 1.16% over the last 7 years. To give you an idea of just how pathetic that is, we're talking a growth rate that is somehow even worse than the United Kingdom under Keir Starmer. This is so bad that it's almost on par with the Japanese Lost Decades. I can't believe Democrats would actually celebrate this. And that's not even taking into account the fact that Newsom is spending California into oblivion. In 2019, California's state budget was $214.8 billion. State spending per capita was about $5436.29/person. Today, the state budget is $321.1 billion. That's a massive 50% increase in state spending despite the fact that California has actually LOST population since 2019. State spending per capita is now about $8,129.11/person. So Newsom wants to take credit for an economic growth record on par with Japan after their economy imploded in the 90s, all while he's jacked up state spending by 50% in less than 10 years? Are you people out of your minds???

🚨 Since Gavin Newsom was elected in 2019, California’s GDP has grown 40%.

@nickshirleyy @GuntherEagleman I would argue there’s less outright fraud than the other two but his incompetence is second to none for sure and there is an incredibly amount of corruption in IL

Why would it be divisive unless Democrats side with Iryna's killer? The answer: they do. Same reason they didn't clap for her at the SOTU. This party is the sickest pit of evil. Pure scum. Greatest enemy of the United States, literally.

America was nearly lost to a cabal of NGOs, think tanks, foundations, specialty media organizations, compromised mainstream media organizations, quasi-governmental organizations and all other manner of other well-funded (often with taxpayer dollars) players dedicated to preserving extra-governmental controls over the average American, all outside the scope of what Americans vote for. The men and women behind these organizations claim to want to benevolently advance public policy, when in reality their singular purpose is to maintain and grow the nefarious personal power they have achieved. Above all else they must defend their fiefdoms, the good of the nation be damned. When reformers try to undo any part of this cabal, those reformers are inevitably smeared, libeled, slandered and threatened. The goal is to prevent them from engaging in that necessary reform by intimidating them into silence. Food for thought.

“But city and state leadership’s priorities are clearly inverted: Criminals and illegals first, law-abiding taxpayers last. In another era, when both sides could agree that law and order were important, shocking crimes like the murder of Gorman would have galvanized leaders of all stripes to come together and close obvious loopholes. They’d unite to find a common sense solution. But progressive left leaders won’t even identify the cancer, so it’s impossible to treat it effectively.”
