There isn’t a day that goes by where we see video after video of Black women crashing out on each other, crashing out on random people, and anyone else. The Black community is in a mental health crisis. One that unfortunately we have normalized and called it “culture”. Young Black men have unfortunately terrorized our own communities for years. And the moment the police get involved, “THAT’S MY BABY!!”, “RACISM”, “HE WASN’T DOING ANYTHING”. On the flip, people like Tyler Perry can crank out movie after movie of Black women crashing out by committing murder, and we call that “entertainment”. Poor mental health doesn’t just show up when murder is involved. It shows up in many forms. Yet, in the land of social media, only extreme cases get highlighted. And now we are seeing people make it into a gender specific issue, when the facts tell us different. Right now, the number one enemy against Black people is BLACK PEOPLE.
