@NewstalkFM @lawlessj @TheHardShoulder It would also be totally possible nowadays for all cars to have built in mechanisms that prevent them exceeding all the different speed limits encountered.

‘So, we’ll stick a cycle lane in, but we’ll make it the smallest cycle lane imaginable, and then all of a sudden, boom, you’re back on the footway. Oh, and we should stick a giant planter right at the end of the tiny cycle lane, just for laughs.’ corkbeo.ie/news/local-new…

@joedamaggio @SafeCyclingEire @GardaTraffic @lawlessj Not that legislation + the emphasis on policing + poor driving, get to the root of it. Long before computing it was possible to mechanically prevent vehicles exceeding speed limits. Now it would be easy to limit according to variable limits. But ideological forces are at play too
English

@SafeCyclingEire @Mocksim @GardaTraffic @lawlessj I think the inconsistency is a serious bugbear for many, me included.

Very pleased to see dangerous overtaking included in the drop down menu of the @GardaTraffic TW replacement portal.
