@atsearlycareer A3 Not a joke--Live in an area near lots of drug companies—easier to get an entry level job to learn the ropes… nowadays, unless you bring a specific skill to the table, it is challenging for companies to move inexperienced people to a job location #ATSchat

@CraigConoscenti Could be a drawback or a big plus, depending on what fires you up! As Drs. @davidlederer & @cammarata_k both said, take note of what you love & what plays to your strengths/skills. #ATSchat

#ATSChat There typically is travel involved. US based if a US company Global if a global company. That is part of the role. Also all the major meetings and not just one will be on your ticket

There are many of opportunities for a physician scientist outside of academia, or in a “hybrid role”. I am full-time faculty at University of Pittsburgh but am involved in multiple startups that were based on projects I have been working on in my research career. #ATSCHAT
