Dude buy your own jet or fly first class. You bought a ticket same as everyone else and the parents don’t enjoy their kids screaming as much as the people around them. In reality it’s probably worse for them because they feel bad their kids are being disruptive. You have choices you made one buying a general seat so deal with it.

Is there anything worse than a crying baby on a plane?
I wish parents would control their children. It’s so disruptive. I refuse to believe a baby cries for 10 hours. At some point this is just bad parenting, right?

It’s probably mother ginger from nutcracker and he’s probably the one that designed the harness most likely not in the show wearing it. I’ve been through this process on this show dozens of times and there’s lots of guys that design the hoops and harnesses for this. There’s literally nothing to see here.

The world has already given up most the control they had to algos and screens this is just the next step in the ladder. It really doesn’t matter what you think about it either we will have AGI and it won’t have a soul, but like I said last time you commented. Qualifying existence with the subject experience or “it doesn’t have a soul” is such a small insignificant slice of what it means to truly exist or be intelligent. Your takes are extremely small minded and confined to the human experience and neither of those qualify as good arguments against AGI.

A weird thing is that whenever I post criticism of AI, the majority of the people agreeing with me seem to be leftists. It’s pretty much the only position I hold that seems to be more popular with the left than the right. It should be the opposite. My whole point about AI (especially AI in creative fields) is that it isn’t human, it doesn’t have a soul, and we cannot surrender our society to an unhuman soulless algorithm even if it makes our lives easier in some ways. It’s very strange that an argument predicated on the existence of the soul resonates with the left while conservatives tend to scoff at it.

The answer is Matt Walsh has a very small, closed minded, human specific set of parameters that defines what he considers conscious. Subjective experience is just that, it’s confined to the subject. Consciousness exists outside of your subjective experience. If this planet blew up tomorrow and the human race was wiped out consciousness wouldn’t cease to exist. The universe wouldn’t even care it would continue on like nothing happened. You would stop experiencing what you consider conscious. There is so much more to the waking universe than the human experience but guys like Matt have enough hubris in spades to make their case that there isn’t.

I really don't understand the confidence with which people hold this position. Philosophers have been arguing for thousands of years over what subjective experience *even is* and there's no consensus. How can we be sure that AI not only doesn't have such experiences but never could?

This is dumb. AI can’t ever be actually conscious because it doesn’t have subjective experience. It isn’t like anything to be AI. There is no experience there. Consciousness is the awareness and experience of self. AI has neither, and never will. The real risk (which I’m extremely worried about) is that AI becomes kind of a version of what has been called a “philosophical zombie,” which is something that acts and speaks entirely as though it has consciousness even though it has no genuine inner experience. When this happens with AI, millions of very lonely people will isolate themselves from the world even more, believing that their relationship with AI is a sufficient substitute for human interaction. So the nightmare scenario is a world where the average human has friends, coworkers, and even a spouse, who are all AI, all really nothing inside, not real. I think this probably will happen, and is already in the process of happening. And to me it’s an even greater horror than AI actually becoming conscious.

I love DJ but this whole situation is a microcosm of the problems the colts always have. They are forced to hitch their wagon to a guy who granted, did really good through half the season but, the other side of that coin is he’s never stayed healthy either including last year. All because Ballard couldn’t find the right guy in the time since luck retired.
If the main knock on Richardson is he’s never on the field DJ has had like one healthy full season his entire career too and it feels like a Hail Mary for this staff and gm at this point to keep him. You really want to place your bets on a guy who’s coming off late year Achilles tear and that’s the solution to all your problems at the position?
Also think about this too what if you sign DJ to a big extension in the ballpark of what he wants and he doesn’t come back healthy from his last injury, gets rushed in, and plays average or not great and maybe gets hurt again? Ballard is almost certainly gone and you have a massive QB contract for the new regime coming in to deal with.

People don’t get it.
AI is becoming critical infrastructure. It will power defense, finance, intelligence, everything.
If a private company can decide how the U.S. government is allowed to use it, that’s not ethics.
That’s corporate leverage over a sovereign nation.

You wanna know why for anthropic the line is drawn at “any lawful use” because guys like Pete hegseth said all orders from the president or the department of defense should be presumed to be legal first without question. They act first and say sorry later when they’re wrong on something but with AI you can’t get it wrong. AI is too fast and too powerful and at the pace congress moves it would be way too late by the time they deemed something an AI was doing illegal. The damage would be done and it would be incalculable. There’s no reason for anthropic to trust the government the outcomes are just too large to gamble on.

I see people attacking Nick Shirley regarding the UPS Store
Here is a UPS Store in Fulton County. This is a plaza and as you can see - not a single residential home above or near it
96 people are registered to vote using this UPS Stores address. In Georgia, you are NOT allowed to use a PO Box as a residential address for voting purposes

Democrat Governor Spanberger is attempting to redraw the maps to eliminate FOUR Republicans from Congress this year.
